if my maf ran out of voltage, couldnt meter any more air, what would happen? im think maybe thats why i become really rich and sputter right about where my peak power should be

If you max out your MAF you would run lean, since there would be more air entering the chamber that the ECU would account for, that is if the ECU doesn't go into safe mode

The safe mode I'm talking about is when the ECU doesn't have comm with the MAF so it just adds fuel according to RPMs and disregards the MAF signal. It also won't let you go beyond 2k rpm (if I remember correctly from previous threads). The problem would be that couple of seconds between the fuel cut and the drop in boost.... that would run lean also.

Maybe someone who has really maxed the MAF out can let you know for sure... I'm just speculating.

yea cuz at about 5000rpm and about 10psi it will sputter and the egt's drop to 800-1000 degrees which means im running really rich somehow. of course maybe my boost did drop since i was too busy lookin at the egt gauge. ill see what happens with the boost tomorrow
