A tune is best with enough supporting modifications. Intake, Exhaust, HFC at minimum.....

The biggest problem with intakes is heat-soak. I've seen it in person on a dyno while getting an Uprev tune on a cool day with a large fan just a few feet away. I'm sure those that run this intake with a full free flowing exhaust and a good tune may feel a difference in cooler weather but not for those that live in hot area's like Texas, Arizona & Florida.

The next time you drive in the city when it's above 90 degrees pop your hood and place your hand on top of the motor, :slap: now just imagine feeding you engine more heat thru the cone filter. How much hp are you really getting with all that heat-soak, none at all!!

Thus the reason why I have a K&N drop-in filter in my M. It's better to get cooler air from outside the car than hotter air produced by the engine.

And I have to agree with Larz, A bent pipe with a cone filter for $300 is just too much. That's just my opinion. I'm not here to tell anyone not to buy the R2C intake, members here can buy whatever they want. At the end it's the customer's car and money and they should buy whatever they want.

Good luck with sales :dblthumb:

IMHO, the K&N filter is the worst media you can use for filtration on any car. For one it's paper thin and two, it requires oiling.

R2C didn't start out making performance filters, they started out making filtration systems for government vehicles in extreme conditions. So the filter that r2c makes for the performance side, utilizes that same media. So unlike the K&N, that uses less media to allow for their (1-2 hp increase), r2c filters the best and still provides performance gains.

I'm sure this is all an echo on here, so I will step off my soap box.

Happy Easter.

This is what I payed for my R2C intake straight from the manufacturer.
I haven't installed it yet because I'm planning to get exhaust and then tune the car on the dyno w/ both intake and exhaust on.

Where is the link to that price? Not on their website? When did you buy the intake for that price?

I ordered the intake on May 9, 2014. I looked it up on r2cperformance.com website today, but looks like there is no option right now to buy one for the M45's. I'm sure you may not believe me about the total price, and that's understandable. Once I get a chance to take a picture of my invoice total, I'll post it up. Also I can post up a pic of the intake in the original box to show proof that I indeed ordered it and have it. And it's brand new, never used, not a clearanced defective one.

Never said I didn't believe you. Trying to figure out why the manufacturer would be undercutting their vendors. I will get to the bottom of it regardless.

It's all good man! If someone posted something like that, I personally wouldn't believe them. When I was deciding on an intake and doing research I went to the manufacturer website and that was the price. After deciding to go w/ the R2C intake, I bought it from them.

Thanks for the heads up.... if anyone knows me, they can attest to the fact I play no games, whether it be with customers or vendors. I have already started my "investigation" into the issue.

I was always wanting to post about my price, but totally forgot about it since the intake is stashed away in the garage. I know that you are legit since you have answered all my PM's in the past.

I don't get a whistling sound with mine - just a louder growl when I step on it. although it seems to have tamed down a bit since I installed it, over 2 years ago.

Just intalled it tonight. Ill test it out tomorow morning. First impression is that it looks great and well designed for the M45. Everything fits just right and snug, everything is tight and sturdy.

Nope I tightened it up but I haven't gotten up to the speed again to hear it so I'll keep listening for it. I'm thinking maybe it got loose a couple weeks after I installed it so hopefully that was it.

Is it a good idea to use an intake like this with an aftermarket exhaust? To keep torque and HP at optimal levels, is it better to do one or the other, but not BOTH?

I heard that when you do both, it's better to get a tune as well. I'm sure it's probably because of the greater air to fuel ratio. However, I've got this intake and the Megan axle back and my car does feel like it "goes" easier. I wouldn't say much faster it just feels better. Hopefully I'm not too off base with this and one of the more experienced guys can confirm.

Quick question...

Will the G37 air filters fit in the 2009/2010 M35? Please see link below for the item I'm questioning about.

https://www.tunerzstore.com/Infiniti-G3 ... hr-vq37vhr

Also, can these be used as well in 2009/2010 M35? What is the benefit of using these intake hoses?

Thank you

The G37 drop in filters are not the same as the M35.

The hoses are not confirmed fitment for the M35. They would help with intake temps and sound different because the baffling would be removed when stock tubes are taken out.
