from what i have been told by my sales rep at my infiniti dealer the current M's (Q70) are due for a refresh...that means the current M's will be sold as the Q70 until the refresh is available sometime in 2015! i personally like my car and the current M's but i am excited to see what they come up with for a refresh to the design....if it is anything like the Eu Rogue concept i will be first in line...there are also rumors of a Q90 flagship as well...another rumor i read (autoblog.com) is that the new refreshed Q70 will also have a 550 hp M5 fighter version!!! i cant wait to see that!!

My Infiniti guy told me the semi-new Q70 will be the current M37 body and interior, but wth a new grille and rear lights. The Q70 will remain that way for 2014 & 2015. He said the actual re-designed Q70 will be the 2016 model year. He also said that Infiniti will probably be using Mercedes engines and gear boxes in lots of Infiniti models by that time. However, in China the Q50 will have the turbocharged Mercedes 2.0 liter gas engine this year.
The Infiniti plant in Sunderland England will be making the new 2015 Q compact hatchback with a Mercedes platform as well. And Inifniti here in the states will be making 4-cylinder Mercedes engines in Tenessee to be used in the next gen C class and also for the new compact Infiniti called Q30 or Q40 I believe.
Personally, I'm hoping to see Infiniti bring some of the diesel models to the US. The M30d with the 3.0 turbo diesel engine (made by Renault) and 4-wheel steering gets combined 38mpg and has plenty of power.

I am willing to buy a brand new M37 2013, I don't know if it is a good idea, the price is amazing compared to the new branding Q70, my sales man told me that there will be no changes between 2013 and 2014, but model changes by 2016 ...... I don't know, frankly I am mixed between the price, and the model, the car is super amazing, it has everything, but the only issue is the expected changes along with the rumor I heard yesterday of discontinue the whole car by 2016

Rumors have been going around for a while now about getting some Mercedes engines in Infiniti car's. While I do like the idea from a performance standpoint, I hope that the new engines and transmissions used prove to be just as reliable as the VQ35 and VQ37's have already proven to be.

You're right, mate. The 2014 and 2015 Q70's are still M37's with a different grille and rear lights but in 2016 the Q70 will be a complete re-design dunno if it will be the size as the current M37.
I'm thinking the body style will be similar to the new Q60 coupe also due in 2016 - just slightly bigger. I've been looking but can't find any pics or drawings of the 2016 Q70.

Any further news on the 2016 Q70 or its successor. The refreshed 2015 looks pretty good

Bump....
We have been shopping for the 2015 Q70L and this is one of my concerns - pull the trigger on the 2015 and here comes a redesign for 2016. The Q70L is a good looking car, but the interior is mainly unchanged from the previous years.

Anyone share news on the 2016 model?

There are always rumors and always something "better" just around the corner. As EniGmA1987 said, the VQ engines have been proven to be good engines. Personally I would never buy the first run of a re-design or any new car. Case in point, the Q50 drive-by-wire was so bad or un-liked by people that its being reverting. I'd give the re-design a year or two to work out any bugs.
I would expect styling of a new Q70 to be similar to the Q60 concept. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1096 ... -and-video.

It would seem strange for 2016 to be a complete refresh of the Q70 given that they just did a mid-cycle refresh for the 2015 models. As the previous poster notes, there's always something new coming, so you should base your car buying on when you want/need to rather than waiting for the next thing. My expectations would be that the next Q70 adopts a similar dual-screen center console like the Q50, but from what I've read of the reviews of that, it's not really refined yet, which might keep them from adding to the Q70 until it is... who wants Facebook in their car anyway?

Solid advice! Picked up the Q70L and no regrets! Cheers.

Congrats! I know I'm loving my Q70S... I got a chance to sit in the back seat of a Q70L at the car show and could literally cross my legs... amazing amount of room! The back door cinching is pretty cool too!

Cheers! What color did you go with? I really like the aggressive front end on the S. You opting in for the extended warranty?

Storm Front Grey.... you? I love the color and the front end too... it looks slightly menacing :)
I did not get an extended warranty--4 years is good, and I won't go over on milage. I did, however, negotiate a 3-year prepaid maintenance contract as part of the deal.
