It's actually a Chinese p0rn site, but anyways...the OEM P/N for the rear sways are the same for both the sports M56 & M37 and both the non-sports M56 & M37, but the front sways are different part numbers, that's my the op couldn't get the front to work.

Also the rear OEM sways on M37, M56, Q50, Q60, Q70 are all the same.

I think I know why the M37 front sway wouldn't fit, it hits the oil filter. M56 oil filter is located to the front of the engine, whereas the M37 oil filter is on the passenger side. You need to get a oil filter relocation kit if you want to use the M37 front sway bar.

I could be completely wrong, but that's my best guess.

Weird this just popped back up. Looking at the rear aftermarket bar I have laying around it looks like the Y51 Tanabe bar, wonder if I should try to swap it out or would I hate it without the matching front one.

I would like to add to Yoda' s comments. Speaking OEM strictly:

There are 2 options for the rear stabilizer bars
1. 56230-1MA0A. Sport - both V8 & V6
2. 56230-1MA0B. Non-sport - both V8 & V6, which includes AWD

There are 5 options for the front
1. 54610-1MT1A. Sport V8
2. 54610-1MA1A. Non-sport V8
3. 54610-1MT0A. Sport V6
4. 54610-1MA0A. Non-sport V6
5. 54610-1MA0B. AWD for both V8 & V6
For the front, there are 3 diameters - Sport, Non-sport & AWD.

The hybrid with its near perfect F/R weight distribution shares the non-sport rear bar 56230-1MA0B, but the sport model front parts - 54610-1MT0A.

***
These are some things to be aware of as you buy aftermarket or even used parts, lest your changes end up having an undesirable effect on your handling.
Obviously, if you have a good understanding of chassis & suspension dynamics you can use any combination of sway bars (or make your own) to have a car balanced well enough for whatever you intend to use it for.

Know if L model changes anything? Assume it still uses the same AWD or Non-sport stuff.

The wheelbase doesn't seem to matter. All LWB rears are the non-sport regardless of engine size. The front parts go as expected, V6 long & short share a part #, V8 long & short share theirs.

Obviously, no sport models for the long wheelbase so they only get 3 options for the front.

Although the AWD longbase isn't explicitly called out, I would assume all AWDs use the same stabilizer bar because of the shape & to account for the extra weight on the nose. The AWD bars are usually beefy, but I didn't think to take any measurements when I owned my M56x.

Anyone have a diameter on the AWD rear sway bar?

I may look at mine and measure. Then see if I want to swap the other bar that I have that I assume is a tanabe.

I have a hotchkis 370z front sway laying around that I can test fit and see if it really fits.

TL/DR: Doesn't fit. Sort of.

I shouldn't have expected much since the install instructions on that website is in Chinese.
There's 3 issues.
1. The 370z sway is slightly narrower so you'll need aftermarket end links that comes with spacers to fit it properly. Either the SPL or Voodoo13 endlinks would work.
2. This won't fit the M56 because it hits the oil cooler.
3. The 370z has a recess spot for the bushing to squeeze into, but the y51 frame doesn't so the bracket sits about half inch off the frame. If you can find or make a bracket that fits properlty, then this could fit the M37 since it's oil cooler is in a different position..

I wonder if the g37x rear and front sway bars would work fine?
