M30 blower stuck in 3rd speed and wont turn off!

Hi everyone!I'm having an issue with the cabin air fan and cant seem to locate anything from the search feature. Here's the scoop:

When the ignition key is turned to ON position, the fan keeps blowing air evethough i press the OFF button, it will stay on until i shut the car off. Now if i play with the speed button, it will switch to 4th setting (high) but the lowest it goes is 3rd and nothing else.Other controls seem to be fine but once i hit the OFF button, the air automatically blows to the floor and defroster only.Does anyone know what might cause this behaviour?

zomg YAY, another m30 owner

however that HVAC system is a bi ole' POS. best bet is to hop on over the F31club.com and check out one of the threads covering this.there's a fella in cali who #1 on my list that will solder the weak point in the display circuit so the digital display will actually work alll the time, and 2nd of all..hes a nissan/infiniti hvac specialist..he'll get ya right. im about to send off my spare unit.

Thanks for the directions:1 So this is a common problem on these cars? The lights all work in there and they go off when i press OFF button. Anyway, i'll check the site out and see if i can attack it myself. Here's some pics of my cars:

Well, i was checking one of the threads about the climate control unit and it appears to be a faulty fan control amp. There was another person who had the exact same problem and got it fixed by changing it.Again thanks for your help!

yeah that digital hvac unit is terrible..there's a weak link in the display..it effects the entire unit..however it wouldn't effect your problem..that's just the display/lights.

mines intermittent, i've just gotten good at remembering the settings haha. how much did you buy yours for..you have no idea how jealous i am. i love the pearl/gold two tone bodies.

oh and i cant forget to mention its in immaculate shape.

i have a 92 m30 convertible that has a date coming with the crusher. it was turning into quite the nice car until my step son crashed it. as for your blower issue it is the switch. parts for this car are very hard to find and too bad mine is all the way here in san antonio. find a switch and what ever you do, do not mess with the wiring in it, just replace switch.
