Wasn't actually that short-lived...4 years. But yes, it was an early 80s model. From 1981 to 1984. And they were indeed Datsuns. Actually wore both the Nissan AND Datsun badges for one year. There was even a diesel option for that generation.THT wrote:

I have a 2003 M45 ~ 70,000 km and my bro has a 2003 Maxima SE, Standard no mods.
Let me tell you, he beats me constantly, the worst is on the highway, and from moving.
I seem to beat him from the stoplight, but not always.
I know you might say that my car is brocken and some **** like that, but I can tell you, the Maximas, if the are in good condition, beat our cars....
here come the tomatoes...
5.5 gen is faster than a 6th gen. And I find it hard to believe that you can't take one from a roll since the VK45 makes more power up top than the VQ35.MATTEO wrote:I would not bet my money that you won't get betten...

You're saying the car will shift for you even in manual? I never knew that.Boon wrote:Also if you are racing our cars at the track, stick her in Manual mode, pop it down into 1st, then don't touch it. The ECU in our cars will auto shift the car at the peak of the gear right before your power curve starts to go south. It is actually the perfect shift everytime, at least in mine it is.
Yep, it's a blessing and a curse. The car will downshift and upshift even in manual mode, so it's more like semi-manual mode.Zamba wrote:You're saying the car will shift for you even in manual? I never knew that.
