I've got a 2WD R50. The propeller shaft (drive shaft) is the only place there is to grease, right? I pumped 4 pumps of SuperTech moly lithium grease into the drive shaft, is that adequate? I don't know when it was last greased, I've heard that some oil change places do it but it's been about 4k miles since I last got an oil change done by a shop rather than myself.

If there is a grease fitting, usually near the knuckles of the u joint fitting, grease it and watch the end of the shaft, feel as you grease, you want no increase in effort to squeeze the grease in but the grease has to go to, through the fitting and push out the old grease. Look around on and at the body work, there will be a sign of grease flinging out at the exit point and line that grease mark up with the rotating shaft and you should find the exit site. Keep the input and output points clean. The removing grease will stop rusting where it lands on the underneath body parts.

You may need to move the car a few feet to have the zerk pointing in a direction where you can hook up your flexible grease gun.

Buzzman, I did read that thread several times. I just followed Legion76's suggestion of pumping grease only a few times. I'm just wondering whether the drive shaft is the only zerk to grease, is all.

Supposedly there should be some relief hole where grease will ooze out to let you know that you've sufficiently greased the driveshaft. I was unable to find it (but didn't feel around too much, as the exhaust components were still very hot and I burnt myself slightly by an accidental brush). Can anyone confirm that such a relief hole exists, or at least approximately how many pumps of grease are required? I learned of the relief hole via my thread on BITOG (and in case anybody's still having trouble finding the zerk fitting, there's a picture of it in that linked thread).

No hole by design, but around the seal the grease will ooze out. You will notice it flinging on the exhaust and car parts. As you pump take note of how hard you pump, when it becomes more difficult stop. You will hear it oozing out.

I know this is a crappy pic but you get the idea. The two tiny nipples are the zerk(grease) fittings and then there's another one in between in the cut out.

I stopped squeezing the trigger as soon as I felt slight resistance. I think I gave it a good 3-4 pumps.
