About a week ago I put on my new rims. They are 17's and I had absolutley no problems until today when my low tire pressure light came on. I walked around my car and checked all of my tires but none of them appreared to be low. So I just figured that my car wasn't use to a bigger tire therefore even the littlest bit of pressure lost by the bigger tires would make it go off. So I filled all my tires up and it still didn't turn off. I don't get it, any help would be awesome.

First off, check if it might be a TPMS system problem. Start the car, and watch the TPMS light. If it flashes for a minute then glows steadily, you've got a system problem, not a tire pressure one. That'll need a reset by your tire vendor or the dealer.

If the light comes on solidly without flashing, then you do have a problem with tire pressure. Not sure what pressure you're using in those big wheels, but you should inflate them to what Nissan specifies for the stock tires.

Yeah it flashes. So I guess I'll have to take a trip to the dealership.

I would make sure the tire pressure sensors are in the new tires and not in the old ones!!!! they did that to me!!!!

He did say he'd had the new rims/tires installed a week ago, and the light just came on. If the sensors hadn't been switched, the light should have come on much earlier.

It is not terribly unusual for a tire shop to damage a sensor. I have read about that on other forums for vehicles with tpms. They may have not totally destroyed it, and it took a few days for it to finally quit. Just a thought.

The dealership will be able to tell you. Let us know what you find out. I wonder how easy it is to damage one of the Versa sensors.

i swapped out my friends SL rims w/out the TPMS on them (my tires were rediculously balled and it was dangerous) and it took bout 200 miles for the TPMS light to turn on. the system is slow to detecting that the TPMS sensors are not there.
