Has anyone had a problem with the low pressure warning lamp coming on?Tire pressure is normal 33psi all 4 tires. The lamp started flashing when starting and then becomes steady while driving. Will probably have to take it to the dealer

33 psi is on the borderline of what triggers the warning lamp. I think it is a 4psi window or something to trigger it.

You should be running 35psi or so. I think that is the normal.

omg telecom

i had the same problem today at around 4 pmi was going to ask the same question as you and i also have the 06 sedan 6mt and am in the same area

i was driving and the light came on so i pulled over and checked the pressure and it was 36 to 37 psi at all corners so i thought that because of the weather being warm the psi went up and thats what triggered the tpms but that did not solve the problem once i got on the new jersey turnpike after a while the light went off so i thought no problem but as soon as i got into town the light came on againso i checked the pressure and all wheels are at 34psi and the lights are still on

anybody know why this is happening

thankswkim711

ok this could be a few things...first off tires are supposed to be at 35psi COLD....that means when u come out in the morning.

if thats not it...one of the tire sensors could be bad...this happnes all the time... if its just the pressure the light will go off after a little while of driving. if it doesn't...take it to the dealer to have it fixed

thanks for all the info infinititech1

on the door it says that it should be at 33psi at all corners my car has the 18" rims that come with the sports package

does this make a difference

so if i had the psi at 33 warm what would be the rough equivalence to that for the cold psiand also at what point does the tpms light turn on the last time the light came on all 4 tires were at about 28psi cold and i brought the pressure to 34 and the light went off

this time the light came on and i stopped to check the pressure and all tires were at between 36-37 psi so i brought the pressure down to 34 psi and after driving on the hiway the light went off but as soon as i got into town the light came on again

sorry for being a pain in the as but i dont feel like bringing my car to the dealer if i dont have to thanks

the light should come on at about 30 psi or so

if ur tires are 33 warm they would probably drop to 30 cold.

if your tires have more than 35 the light won't come on. it only comes on for low tires

Thanks Infinititech.

I will increase the cold tire pressure to 35psi tomorrow morning and let you know the results. The weather here in central New Jersey has been changable with cold mornings and warm afternoons. Since it was over 70* yesterday afternoon & the warning light did not go off even though I'm sure the tire pressure increased from the 33 psi that I measured in the morning, I'll be very surprised if just increasing tire pressure will cure the problem? I'll let you all know tomorrow

Each 10F change results in a 1.0 PSI change.Important to adjust cold pressure every month to stay within the optimal range of morning vs afternoon temperatures.

I was not so lucky. I put 35-36 psi in all 4 tires this morning. the outside temp was 36*. The light did not go out on my 50 mile drive to work. I already made an appointment with the dealer to bring it in a week from Sat

Ok, I'm confused...the sticker on the driver's door post advises cold pressure set at 30psi on my '05 Sedan. I've had the low pressure warning come on once, (on my drive home from the dealer), and noted one tire was reading about 24psi. I brought all tires up to 30psi and have been keeping them at that pressure. Tires are stock size. Tire wear seems to be even, but I've only put about 3,000 miles on the car since I picked it up, (1,700 of that was the drive home from the dealership!) Should I kick them up to 35psi? Thanks.

my '06 coupe with 17 inch wheels/tires specifies 30 psi cold. that's what i've been using and haven't had any issues with the tpm lighting up.

why not set the pressure to manufacturer specs? seems to me that there could be a difference in specs between the 19 and 17 inch wheels/tires...and that setting all pressures to 35 psi isn't necessarily the RIGHT thing to be doing...

you might be doing your customers, or potential customers, a disservice. even a 5lb increase in air pressure over manu specs can cause the ride to deteoriate significantly. something to think about...

After having to work the past few weekends, I finally brought the car to the dealer today. They told me they replaced the RR sensor. I wonder if it was just a battery? I asked to see the sensor but they told me it was already thrown away.

A battery?????? Confused as I don't think a battery would be in those. I could be wrong I guess. I believe you can see the sensor on any of the tires, it is the metal part that surrounds the valve stem from the rim to the air nozzle.
