Dave, you mentioned elsewhere about the VIAS change that SR did. Do you have any details on that? I have researched and can't find anything.

I'm glad that you finding me pretty isnt hard to believe scott I knew deep down those feelings were there. AND YES DENT FREE MAX is a good thing. I'd beat anyone who put a dent in her. I right now want to beat myself cause i havent given her the proper care she needs. Also i'll be a full fledge good ole grade A american citizen. NO dual citizenship. Trying to show her the great things about the US to become a us cit herself

Matt, there was talk about it a long time ago, where when removing the stock intake your remove the VIAS. This was also done by ssr engineering, but I think they still have the prototype and it never got released b/c so much torque was lost. I think right now That is what SR20DEN is working on maybe making a better VIAS for the intake.

When you posted the initial response, I searched SR's threads for any intel. Found nothing but innuendo. Nothing anyone else had done had resulted in any hp increases, simply changed the "band" just a bit.

Try searching for SSR engineerings thread on their beta test on an intake manifold. It almost looked like a superman emblem on top of the engine. lol The thread may have gotten deleted, cause the mods got delete happy awhile back.

I thought SR20DEN was just working on a complete intake manifold and not a new VIAS system also??

I followed through a lot of the VIAS threads concerning the IM's. I never saw where SR20DEN went into any detail as to what he had actually done to his IM. He just seems to ignore the query or skirts the answer all together. It seems others experiments with the VIAS, whether simply opened or closed, went nowhere. Removing some of the internal baffles seemed to only increase intake noise. Now, others are playing around with '04-05 UIM and LIM manipulations. It just seems to me that additional flow should = more power. This is normally done via larger TB's plus some honing of the intake/exhaust ports and the internal manifold (Some VQ owners have noted that the honeycomb pre-cat had broken up and reduced airflow as well). With the VQ35's "drive by wire" setup, swapping to a larger diameter TB is not really viable unless one from a newer Nissan product can be used that won't cause ECU problems.

From my standpoint, if the modification was "relatively" simple, I would go ahead and do it. Since my car is primarily for work-related travel, I don't want to do anything that may cause issues with it.

Hey Matt. I'll have to do all my research again when i get back to louisville and see if i have pictures of it and all still. I had a few pics of a beta tested intake manifold which lost lots of torque and gained hp. If i stillhave it i'll email it to you. But i wont be back in Louisville for another 3 weeks or so.

That'll work...

I could stand to lose some torque since I do nothing but spin off the line

My Berk intake did the same thing... lost noticable low end torque, but gained all at the top end. I think it gave me an extra 1 mpg too.

My injen probably gives more lower-end torque, which I don't need

Is there a dynojet in the area? I've already been to Auto-Motion to tune my car so I know what it's doing "on the street". But others want it on a dynojet so we can compare them.

Fount out why my car was shaking when stoped and why it felt like i was hauling aboat load of people. The people that i go to, to get my oil changed never looks at the air filter and airs out or puts a new one in. I undone the two clips, pulled it out and shure enough if that filter wasnt the dirtyest filter i have ever had in a car. I was going to put a K and N in there but autozone did not have any for my car so i had to go with STP. I dont like the STP one too much but it is better than what i had. The one i had was almost fully black and had leaves and other crap in it.

Thanks I called them today and some one answered I'm going to try and go next Friday before we go to Beech Bend. On the Mustang dyno I put down 190 hp and 210 tq, so I'm wondering what my #'s will be on a dynojet.
