Thanks for the info.

I've noticed, from others, that MPA is sending out "warning" notices to those downloading movies. Primarily Paramont and Fox. Of course, unlike the RIAA, they have not been going after individuals.

I've downloaded over 30GB last month easily, without any notifications, just wondering what Insight's policy and steps were if they received complaints from those companies.

Also, do you know of any "sneaky" ways to use IP spoofing to avoid this issue all together? How about a way to speed up my 'net line?

Steve: any word on the new code?

Dave: what's the status of the coilover? Oh, and I did get your parking pass from Fred.

good news... the code was NOT from the O2 sensor I put the eliminator circuit on.It was from the o2 sensor up stream of that one. P0133 bank1 sensor 1 slow response time. They re-set it. If It goes again i'll buy a new o2 sensor and put it in. Dealer wants $150 labor to install one... ha.

Also, I bought some copper NGK's today for 2.69 each. I could have gone platinum for $12 each, or used the laser platinum NGKs for $19 each....For the $$ I'll change them again in 30,000 miles. It can't be THAT hard to get to them. (front bank should be real easy, not sure about the back yet).

The trickiest thing about the rears is the tiny screws that hold the coils down. What I did was while unscrewing them, have a magnet handy so that they don't fall. Of course a magnetic screwdriver will work just as well.

I'm dating myself here... but I've never worked on a car that had more than 1 coil. this is the first car I've owned with out a distributor. Heck, my 3rd and 4th cars had cable driven tachs FROM the distributor! This should be interesting. Thanks for the magnet idea... I'll keep one handy.

Thanks, that helped. Took about 45 minutes once I found enough drive extensions to reach those back plugs!

Hey guys, what is your normal idle speed? Lately when I stop at a light and the idle settles down it's been dropping to ~550 rpm and running pretty rough.i'm not sure if this is related to the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 that is apparently going out.

Base idle for the 4th gen manual VQ30 (which I can't imagine being that different than the 5th gen) is between 525 - 625 rpm. The only ill effect that either bank sensor 1 O2 will have is to make you run rich.

I wonder if it's rich enough at idle to make it run rough?Guess I'll replace the sensor and we'll find out.

Sounds like it also would not hurt to clean your IACV.

It would be hard to blame running as rich as you are speaking of on a bad primary o2 sensor because at idle, fuel is maintained by base fuel pressure off of the regulator. Not until part throttle acceleration do any of the o2 sensors have any input in A/F ratios. They also have no play in A/F at WOT either due to the open/closed loop type of ECU that the VQ30 uses.

In the never ending saga of the o2 sensor, today the dealer told me that I was just missing an o2 sensor (bank 1 sensor2).Funny thing is that is the sensor they replaced a couple months ago.

after 45 seconds under my car tonight I see that warp speed routes sensor 2 bank 1 to be 5 inches down stream from sensor 2 bank 2! The same air is hitting both.

If i'm getting codes from this sensor and not the bank 2 sensor, it means that this is a heat issue. Original mounting point was on the pre-cat, now it's down stream.

Time to move the MIL eliminator.

Dealer was pretty cool on taking care of me, only charged me 30 minutes diagnostic time when they usually charge an hour to hook it up to the machine. I still would recommend Collins.

So, bank 1 sensor 1 is after the cat or behind bank 2 sensor 1(rear bank sensor after pre-cat)? I'm just confused on the placement, as I don't have much experience with the 5th gen(other thann Dave's). Regardless, I believe Dave, Cullen and I will be getting together this Sat. to straighten out Dave's coilovers. If you are available, join us, and we'll try to help get it sorted out. Either myself or Dave will post up what time we are meeting on Sat.

LOL...

Maybe. I'll have to see what's up since I'm about to start three travel days. Higher on my list is plugs, TB+MAF cleaning, and upper manifold cleaning. I will probably order SeaFoam to take care of the manifold tho.

Cullen, he's seen us drive. The only way either one of us will break-in his car is if we break-in.

Anyone interested in meeting up tomorrow for install/maintenance, we are meeting at the McDonalds in Jeff (exit 0) at 10:00am.

Mark: Sorry, no contacts at BWM. Are you trading in the G or selling it outright?

Wish I could have joined you guys as I have some work to do on the max.

I did, however, have a good time in Chicago.

Here are some pictures from the Chicago auto show:

http://home.insightbb.com/~ssheltz/photos/For those of you I've not met, that's me next to the tuner Tiburon.

It was a good show. I think they had about every brand you could think of, from SMART, to Noble, Aston Martin to Maybach. The car that blew me away the most was the orange Dodge Charger.4 doors, folding rear seats and 340 Hemi horsepower.
