Lost a jet today...

Well went to work today and it was just a normal day. get my tool box started washing off my jet and wait for my pilot. Launch it out take lunch and wait for it to come back. Start watching all these others jet get turn around and not take off. Oh f***. Look around and see that all jets are back except for one. that one had an unfortunate day and landed in the dirt. major fuel leak caused engine to lose power and crash land.so much for a normal day at luke afb

Damn that sucks AZZ. Look at that bird on the floor. Was the Pilot or anyone else hurt? I hope not.

No one was injured. The amazing thing is that the pilot that this happend too. it was only his third flight on an F-16. granted there was an instructor pilot in the back seat. its still good that they didnt have to eject causing much more damage. the airport which it attempted to land at runway was about 500 feet to short for it to land as well,

I didn't realize F-16's HAD a back seat.

Most f-16s dont but this particular model does because here they train pilots. about half of the jets in my unit are 2 seaters. most other bases only have 2-3 total.
