I know -- this is the most ridiculous thread I've ever seen. Essentially, I intended to tease the poster, and some people took it personally the wrong way. They talk crap to me, I feed on it and send it back. Seriously, there's only like 5 posts in this thing that are worth anything LOL.

BTW, to the guy that made some comment about Myspace or my owning several cars. 1) I fly all around the country for my work. She's attending Harvard Medical, which is why she's in Boston. I live in Dallas, because the DFW hub is there, and the corporate offices where I work are located in Dallas. 2) I forgot to mention the cars that I've owned that didn't need to be mentioned: Dodge Diplomat, Chevy pickup, and a Nissan Frontier. Yes I've owned all of those cars -- the most recent was the S600, which I sold last December, since I got tired of paying for it to sit in the garage while I was away on biz trips. Once I move to Boston in the next couple of months, I'm getting a 740, and the 240 will be sold. (hooked up sports car + Boston traffic/weather/crime=rarely driven rust bucket on blocks)

It sure was insulting. You'll find that until she made the rude comments, I actually applauded her for her knowledge on the CA motor, and asked for more information on it... including the statement of surprise and that I didn't really know anything about the CA. Once she made personal insults part of her post, however... the gloves came off! I don't battle half way... as it should be.

A KA motor built with rods, rings, pistons, connecting rods, valves, retainers, springs, cams, and a valve job will run you about 3 grand, which is only a little bit more than a red top swap. This build would pretty much ensure you don't grenade your motor, and should be safe for 500+HP on a good tune.

That's absolutely why I say you're poor. You're trying to look smart by saving 50 bucks a month driving a 16 year old beater pickup that gets 25 MPG. Let's just use a little math to show how that piss-poor cop out is NOT a way to prove that you're not poor as dirt. Typical MPG for a 4 banger truck is around 21MPG, meaning you're saving 4 MPG by driving that old piece of junk. Additionally, everyone knows that older vehicles rarely get the same gas mileage as they did when they were new, meaning you are probably only getting 2-3 more MPG. In a vehicle that holds a standard 15 gallon tank, you're talking about 60 miles more per tank MAYBE. That being said, you would be saving approximately 2.5 gallons of fuel per fill up. Your truck has 350,000 miles on it, so assuming you've had the truck since new (surely impossible as you couldn't afford it), over 16 years, you're looking at an average usage of 456 miles per week driven. That means You fill up 1.2 times per week, at a cost of $3 per gallon, equaling 4.8 times per month, or a savings of 4.8*4*3=$57.60 saved per month, or about 2 bucks per day (and I'm being GENEROUS). Yah, it's not a very strong argument that you're "saving money" by driving an old beater piece of crap. Just admit the truth and embrace it drunkNun -- or should I call you JOE DIRT?
