Hey CodeRed, quick question. How exactly is that in there. Is it face up like that, or can you just place it in there and close the cover?

That's pretty-much how I plan to mount ours if I get one. I want to be able to close the lid when I'm not actually reading the scangauge because we have the tan interior, and that thing will stick out like a sore thumb. I really do want one though.

drilled a little hole in the back and it has velcro on the bottom and i ran the wire through the dash. and yes the lid closes.

I'm hoping that this will be my next purchase for my V (well, after the tinting). Anyway, CodeRed, I like your setup for the placement of the gauge. I've got to see if it would work with my iPod being in there too. Now that you've had it for a while, has the heat of summer caused any problems with the velcro staying glued to the gauge or the car? Does the gauge have any problems staying straight up or does it fall over or become detached easily?

thanks.

Nice set up.

Since it's not in the budget to get one for my car yet, I have two questions for all the people with CVTs who already have a Scanguage:

1. At what RPMs does the Versa achieve the most efficient mpg while accelerating from a dead stop to about 40mph?

2. At what speed or RPMs does the Versa achieve the best mpg while cruising at a constant speed (city streets in the 35-45mph range and at what highway speeds)?

Looks like there is some way to go on getting that dash back to OEM, but that little Cubby is certainly a great spot for a ScanGauge. It keeps it out of sight from inquiring minds when not in use, and is at the right eye level, so checking all those different features is not a dangerous distraction.

I have talked to the distributer, told him about our Versa Forum and he agreed to a $5.00 discount for Versa Forum members if you use the following info on your on-line order..."ScanGauge II Versa forum discount"

This is the info and order link..it also contains lots of other links off to sites that are as obsessive about better MPG's as we are...(well, at least as I am)

http://www.pureenergysystems.com/store/ScanGauge/

And no I am not getting a commision but I am buying a ScanGauge with that -$5.00 Forum discount and putting it into the Versa to answer some of the questions I have about my MPG's...the good, bad, and the ugly.

Here's the specs on the dimensions...

That would be pretty much techno overload for me. Dam, I don't even have to have a pencil and paper to cipher my gas mileage. I just like to turn a key and go. You kids like to push buttons all day.

I would compare it to the "wireless revolution" of the late 19th century. All the kids were getting involved in wireless telegraphs, radio, and gramophones. The only difference? the kids of those days were smart.

Code Red, just out of curiosity...I noticed your Emergency blinker and Pass. Air Bag light are the exact opposite of mine. Wasupwiththat?

Is that stock or did you swap 'em for some reason?

I can't wait for the day we have to ration gas and the kiddies will be stuck texting each other instead of driving to the mall.

[have I told this story yet?]

My son e-mailed me and told me he was going to buy a GPS. I said I didn't need one; his mother was "map girl". He said

get with the 21st century -- why think when you can have a machine do it for you?
