importatlanta.com is freaking retarded, infested mostly by ricers. I posted on the Nissan board to just say hi and see if there's any local CA owner. They started off by saying "ca's suck" or comparing it to a KA and saying they're about the same in horespower.

"I had one but it was soo damn slow. So I put a DOHC KA in." I'm glad there are idiots like him so another CA will be available for the well deserved individual.

I have mad respect for all engines, but mostly KA-T after CA.

"When I get rid of my stock t25 on my sr, do you want it?"

WTF?! Just because your motor comes with a little bigger turbo doens't mean it's godly. No respect for the CA at all. I don't mind if someone picks a specific engine because of personal preferences but simply thinking another engine is crappy just pissed me off. That means you're just an idiot.

Everybody in my town thinks I'm crazy for wanting a ca18 over an sr20 or rb25. People just think they know about cars because they read import tuner. Nobody ever bothers to do there own research.

"he would be a ca guy but there isnt a bandwagon for those because they are slow."

wtf....i'm trying my best to be nice, friendly, and not all technical but they're pulling my strings. The entire time I didn't even type anything saying CA is better than SR. http://forums.importatlanta.co...pp=15have a look and join in if you want

I usually dont post, just read and search like a mofo.

I gotta say tho... It seems that most nissan/240 people hate on the ca , yet know nothing about the ca/sr/rb engines when it comes to peroformance. OF course there are many people who know their $h!t quite well and they get all the props in the world.

for those who dont, pick up a book or spend more time reading than talkin ish. I know this is directed towards the people on the atl board, but i have to vent somewehre and cant get to my gmail account while at work. So talking trash to them personally is out of the question for now.

btw keep up the god work nico guys! i have learned so much in the past year from everyone. I cant stress that enough! And although i still have much to learn I can at least tell anyone with an sr all the reasons why the ca is in all ways comprable/ better than the sr.

And the most important thing i have learned is, ca/sr/rb no matter what the engine there should be unification amongst all nissan owners.

Man, some of those fols are real knuckle heads . I see a bunch of ignorant kids who just don't know any better. I refuse to entertain them, but you quote me: After 16 years of wrenching on nissans, 9 years of toying with the CA series, 7 years of wrencing on SRs, 6 years of wrenching on KAs, and honorable mentions are the VG sereies as well as the RB and the GA, the SR is the cheapest built and the worst designed of the bunch. The KA is also an attempt by nissan to try and build cheap low maintenance engines by using timing chains and big displacement bores to make torque and hp, and for the most part it worked. It worked at the expense of reliability, difficulty of servicing, and cost of repair. If you've never owned a CA or owned one and blew it up, that's your fault. Srs blow-up all the time, spit-up rocker arms like a 1 month old baby does his/her formula, and have many owners on these forums combing for answeres to their dilemmas.

One would have to ask, why isn't the RB series, which is nissan's pride and joy as well as the VG series, designed with timing chains and rocker arms? The SR and KA was designed in era where our beloved nissan company was having major financial troubles. If you're broke, you're going to do things a little more conservatively. That explains the massive market for afternarket parts for both the KA, SR, and all honda engines "They Need it" . Last I remember, the RB and VG series resembles that of the CA. We even share the same oil filter, coil packs, and the same theory from factory. The SR is on it's on with borrowed technology from the CA and other nissan predecessors who have paved the way for the SR.

So if CAs suck, then the SR ain't nothing but a much cheaper deep throater. The CA is what it is 'An icon' that you new school SR jocks need not look down on. With my CA powered sentras, I've whacked many SR/haltech powered SE-R's as well as 240s, so it's not what you got, but who's got it. And I drive around with better than 350hp with A/C, p/s, and a full interior. I'm not saying SRs suck, but in the hands of scrubs, it's just another nissan engine to me.

P.S. pass it on to your local forum..................

Dee

The best way to deal with a lame forum like that is to steer clear of it.

Traffic is traffic, and they get their jollies from entertaining drama like that.

You think Jerry Springer would be interesting if it weren't filled with uneducated idiots?

BTW, just invite the "haters" to Nissans Over Atlanta. Then lets make sure we have a good, solid CA-powered car there to show them what's up.

yeah like zilvia.net. i tried to come up with a FAQ and tech section for all the ca owners who needed questions answered then all the mods come and ransack our post. ive notices that too, when i tell ppl i bought CA18 even mechanics like master techs ask me why i went for that over the ka24, they thought that the ka had more hp and tq than the ca until i ran the facts down for them.

anyhow all the sr owners look down on me, and thats how i like it to be because whenever we go run teh touge, i run them down alllllll night..

hey now, not everyone from atlanta is a dumbass, just most people are jumping on the SR/drift bandwagon now. ive been away from 240's for a couple years now, and im coming back. the ca is just another thing people need to learn about other than just thinking because its smaller its not as good. i remember a couple of years ago when i too wanted a SR, but started researching and found out the ca was better. people just need to be informed, and i too need to learn more about them.

just remember though, that most of the people buying 240s now are because of the media. its not because they researched to find what they want, they just heard about something popular and want in on it. but when it comes to stubborn people sometimes you should just lay out the facts and make them feel dumb, its the only way they will learn.

Okay, i know jumping on thr bandwagon yadda yadda yadda yadda.. but my 2c.

I live in a country where i can get anything i want.. Vg20, Vg30, rb20,25,26, ca18, sr, inifinti v8s, you name it, if it was in japan, i can get here, and i can get it cheap..Why did i choose CA over all these other things ??Mates have Srs, and other mates have CAs.. there just something bout the CA that tickled my fancy.. the lovely idle, the higher revs.. theres nother better then going into town, and spotting the sils, the 180s, the s14s and s15s.. but the only one that makes me smile, that is that lovingly nice cruising idle of the CA.. chains don't turn me on.. fitting Rbs aren't that great, yay, they make more horsepower, but ****, it makes the car very heavy at the front comared to a CA ( and yes, i have been in many.. i can buy an Rb20DET + manual box for under 1 grand aussie..) so there actually are a lot of them..

SRs have more displacement.. so what? i bought a CA cause displacement sometimes isn't everything.. i know guys here who've pulled 400rwhp out of a CA with less mods then an Sr.. theres just as much parts for each engine here then there is for it's brother..

I love my CA, and if my mates give me **** about it, that's their problem.. but they all know when i'm coming down thier street

Pete.

I still have not heard a RWD CA at idle, with some mods and exhaust.

Somebody please make a downloadable file, I am really curious.

It is truely amazing how many people are so quick to think the Ca is crap...I have gottem more crap for owning my Ca, but it has proven itself to me and many others to be one of the toughest motors! For example: Hit the Drag strip up in Spokane, WA...There I find many FWD sentra's with the sr and 240s also running the sr...Every single one walks up to me cocky as hell because they feel they have the "superior" motor (media Hype)....and I am telling you this from many many many runs...they all fall to the Ca!!! Also, The honda guys are no exception to the Ca bashing...Every civic that has a turbo on thinks it is the fastest kid on the block...Another example: Kid wants to race that has a b16 w/a t25 on it running 18psi in a CRX...So of course he is telling me he runs mid 12's blah blah blah... Get out onto the track...Another one goes down...Now I am not disrespecting any of the other motors, I think many motors have great potential if you are smart about it...But I am SICK of the disrespect for the CA! Anyway, just to let you guys know what I am running so you don't get the impression I am just some 'ricer'...haha...I have the Ca18det in my 90' 240sx, t28bb, 440cc injectors, 3"full exhaust, FMIC, SAFC, Z32 mafs, etc...trust me the list goes on, but no internal mods...My last dyno pull I pulled 257rwhp at 17psi...But I am going again this next friday!...I know I can get some better numbers and need some more minor tuning after some new mods... Also, My last run down the 1/4mile was a 12.9 @ 109mph...

there is very little substance to a person who bolsters their own self esteem by denegrating others. As much as I don't like the SR I would never say it's crap, that's just rediculous and ignorant. The same goes for any engine that displays at least one strength. If someone is just stupid, arguing with them serves no purpose. I recall a quotable from a buddy.

"don't argue with a moron, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience"

I may go over there and and start swingin though, it's been a while since I was in a really good flame war. being nice and helpful grates on my nerves sometimes, I am, at heart, an inciter of hate and discontent.

Maybe it's time for the CA gets to start banding together and start pissing on trees. I like the hooligan moniker, we are brash and in-your-face. You think the CA sucks? come get some junior. Being a lover of the CA, the RB and a admirer from a distance of what the KA guys are doing I am ready to decleare war on chumps. I may start pasting kill stickers on the flanks of the car for each type of car I smoke, maybe even license numbers. I think our CA guys should start putting it right out there for all to see, represent. I would like to start seeing some stickers on cars like;

CA18, so much better I'll spot you 200ccsCA18, smaller than the SR20 to be fairCA18, cuz aluminum is for soda cans!Let me get a book to read while I wait for your VTEC to kick in!CA18, so good they broke the moldCA drivers live at a higher address on the tach

etc.

It's not just beating these other people I want them to know that it happens and that it can happen to them too!
