The light comes on as soon as the car is started. And it does not go off again until the car is turned off.fastVG30DETT wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 5:12 amWhen does the light come on? It's not unheard of for the sensor to go bad; assuming all bulbs / connections are ok (including the 3rd brake light).
I'll check the brake fluid just for something to rule out. Last time I did check fluids, brake fluid was topped off. And all of my exterior lights are regular bulbs. Nothing is LED.everpresentnoob wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 4:41 pmDosent that light also indicate low brake fluid?
In my car the previous abuser replaced the brake bulbs with LED. while they look good, they do not have the correct resistance so the light illuminates everytime I hit the brakes as the sensor is thinking there is a bulb out.
Going to be taking a look at that as well.everpresentnoob wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 11:36 amwell if your third brake light does not have a bulb I would start there. that light is partly driven by the sensor that is in line with the power for the brake lights. if it detects an abnormal resistance, ie bulb is out it will illumiinate.
you say yours also comes on if your headlights come on? Odd. Mine dosent. Mine only comes on with the brakes. and I am not running the stock bulbs in my headlights. I put actual HID projectors in there and am running D2S HIDs.
I do have LED headlights from Auxbeam for both low and high beams, but they've been in for awhile and that light never gave me this kind of trouble.everpresentnoob wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 11:36 am

The warning light comes on when the headlights are on or when the running lights are on? The running lights turn the side markers and tail lights on. Might help narrow down your issue.Destrto wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:29 pmI do have LED headlights from Auxbeam for both low and high beams, but they've been in for awhile and that light never gave me this kind of trouble.everpresentnoob wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 11:36 am

One thing I wanted to add, or ask rather. For any of those reading that have LED bulbs in place for exterior lights and such, was there anything you did to fix the turns from blinking so fast? Or is that just the new norm when switching to all LED's? Is there a way to replace a fuse with a different value that would change the blink rate?
I installed this relay from oreillys auto parts rather than run resistors on all the LEDs, much quicker and cleanerDestrto wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:29 pmI do have LED headlights from Auxbeam for both low and high beams, but they've been in for awhile and that light never gave me this kind of trouble.everpresentnoob wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 11:36 am

I actually found the guy on Facebook that sells the LED kits, and he sells the relay separately. So I picked it up from him, because support fellow Z sellers, right? It works great, most likely the same as the one you mentioned. And my blinkers all function normally again.javadave wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 7:52 pmI installed this relay from oreillys auto parts rather than run resistors on all the LEDs, much quicker and cleanerDestrto wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:29 pm

LED Flasher Relay for 300ZX
Also my "lights" warning indicator came on whenever I pressed the brake pedal when I first bought her. All the lights worked, including the 3rd brake lights. The bulbs sold today have a different power rating than those sold 27 years ago, so I just pulled the bulb in the cluster when I replaced all the cluster bulbs with LEDs as well. Only downside is you have to check that all your lights are operational every so often.
So you didn't actually fix the issue. You just removed the bulb alerting you there was one.
