lifters making loud noise

i got a 92 240sx twin cam and its making a loud taping noise on d head and i think its d lifters thats making d loud taping noise .just want 2 ask u guys how 2 fix this problem?thanks

Might be the timing chain if it's coming from the front of the vc. The guides could be bad or need to be removed. The top guide can be removed and the right side guide can also be removed. How many miles? might be due for the chain replacement.

get a big screw driver and hold the tip of it around on the valve cover and listen with ur ear up to the other end of it ,like a stethascope,find out exactly where it is comn from,go from there ,its prolly a shim that needs a new one .if its right up front above the chains its ur top tentioner.take the valve cover off and get rid of it , its 2 bolts and done. if its anywhere on the cams ,u need to check valve clearence.

Do you have oil in the engine? If you are talking about the hydraulic lifters than I would say you need to put oil in your engine. When you have barely any engine oil you can hear them tapping.
