get a big screw driver and hold the tip of it around on the valve cover and listen with ur ear up to the other end of it ,like a stethascope,find out exactly where it is comn from,go from there ,its prolly a shim that needs a new one .if its right up front above the chains its ur top tentioner.take the valve cover off and get rid of it , its 2 bolts and done. if its anywhere on the cams ,u need to check valve clearence.
