apex... is that a redtop RB20? The NICS type? Or did you just paint the valve covers sort of orange. Maybe it's just the pic... but it looks just like a redtop.

sorry it took so long, I didn't see your post till just now, well not really I had my swap done at Mckinneys in CA and I haven't had any problems(except a over heating issue) with it so I haven't looked yet myself, but there is a pro NHRA driver who has a shop in Springfield, IL. that I had my ported head looked at cause when I had GudePerformance out of CA do a port and polish package, someone screwed up, anyway they couldn't find the problem so I had them stick a stock head on so I could drive it back to Illinois. The shop back in illinois determend it was a cam that wasn't grinded right so I sent the cams back to Gude and he's sending me new ones. I'm thinking of having that shop put the ported head and the bigger cams in when I'm ready.

Hahah, Thanks man, always appreciated.

There are still a bunch of hoses i want to replace and a bigger BOV would be nice too, as well as a bigger radiator.

Here's mine.

Stock looking RB30DET under the bonnet of my R32.

The bottom end runs stock rods, wiseco forged pistons, king bearings, 25t oil pump. Its throwing a little too much oil in the head so I'll be pulling the head off and dropping in 2x1.5mm restrictors in the block. Currently they are the stock sized 2.4mm.

The R32 RB25DE head has been ported, polished, valves deshroud etc..I'm getting valve float at higher boost levels that if pushed lead to lifter pump up, when I rip the head off to sort out the excessive oil problem I will be dropping heavier valve springs in.

It goes well, rev's nice and is torquey. Suprisingly it gets very similiar fuel consumption to the rb20det.The motor was ran in on the stock r32 rb20det ecu, later dropped in the pfc and had it all tuned up to suit.

lol.. It does.Feels like a big arsed gutsy diesel. :P

A little boaring to be honest. I miss flicking it to 7000rpm. Needs a decent turbo that will allow it to breathe and return that peaky turbo feel we all love.

Cubes, that is made of win, and i find it funny that you're running a stock airbox, so it looks like an RB20DET thats just stock.

Thats the intention Kansei240sx. :D

The stock airbox is not really stock. The lower half has a great big dirty 100mm cai in to the inner front bumper. The bottom of the airbox has been completely reworked with fibreglass. The bar/plate fmic fits nicely behind the stock bumper hidden by some decent looking mesh, the FMIC piping uses the std route, being the hot air from the turbo runs out the std route but runs behind/slightly under the fmic to the drivers side where it does 2 x 90degree turns (fmic inlet is center positioned on the tank) then obviously the cool air has a nice short cool stock route spending little time in the engine bay.

The police are not to friendly to modified cars over here in SA.

You've gotta be secure in your manhood to paint a motor purple. Way to go my friend

On a side note, are your fans mounted backwards? I just got my perma-cool's and they say the fan blade should always be mounted forward regardless of mounting as a pusher or puller. Just curious, that's all.

that is baller. It's purple, but it's almost pink, purplink. You have achieved the most baller status right under Yashio Factory.
