Don't know bout that oil drain line on that Holset in last pic, angle and length to drain back is odd. Might be functional but its not ideal,,,,, just my 2cents, I would get hose heat sleeve or fire sleeve their sometimes called and run line between ex runners if u have to, to get nice straight and short drain back. That's what I would do.

Yeah the drain is going to be a lot shorter.

why is your intercooler behind the radiator

because everything is moved forward, and i wanted quicker spool time and more flow to the radiator.

kind of makes the intercooler useless if you're trying to cool it with hot air. not to mention the length saved in piping isn't going to make much of a noticeable difference in spool time

if it took you that much piping to get to the front of the radiator with the front support built the way you have it then you are doing it wrong. and even not accounting for that....how are you going to combat the effects of cooling with hot air? that would concern me way more than pipe length. if pipe length is such a concern you can always play with pipe sizing to increase/decrease volumetric capacity. i mean no one needs 3"piping on a stock motor. not trying to bash you man so don't take it personal, just trying to understand the logic behind this.

Agreed....He must not realize how much heat a RB puts off under the hood of a small 180sx chassis...Thats why the intercooler is usually mounted in the front to get the best of what its designed for...AIR.....cool air at that. Radiator puts off a bunch of heat and It looks like his setup will have pusher fans which means all that hot air will be pushed right through the radiator into the intercooler....he should know better....who cares about short intercooler piping when your heat soaking the intercooler..

I'm running 2.75 inch hot side piping and 3" cold piping on my 25, stock turbo, a rather large RawBrokerage FMIC and turbo lag is of zero concern. Engine bay heat on the other hand is. 2 FAL 412 Pullers and a thick Koyo take care of it nicely. And that's with the FMIC and larger than necessary piping. Even my S14 DE radiator with the same fans will take care of the heat rather easily until ambient temps go above like 70°F.

Since you've gone to the trouble to modify your rad support, why don't you re-mod it so you can run a clutch fan and then put your intercooler where it'll get some cool air?

On another note, HoffSauce your manifold is sure purty.

/thread distraction.

LQ coil pacls aka truck coils are used by LS12/LS2/LS6 and LS7 guys as an upgrade. The have a larger heatsink and mount different. All I did was mount them back to back which spaces them exactly the same as the plug holes, I spaced them evenly using threaded rod, nuts and lock washers and mounted the using some aluminum stock I had. They were really dirty and nasty so I cleaned them, primed them and painted them to match the valve cover.

What size EFR is that? How is the spool? I am trying to hold out for one on my rb26.

OutToWin, I would wrap that pcv hose in fire sleeve. I have seen many fires start due to pcv hoses. Looks good.

Nah it's good it's further than it looks and that why the DP is wrapped and there is a turbo blanket.
