Looking at all the M's on this site with the LED's and they look awesome. Im trying to make a full LED conversion to my M.

Anyone know a good site/place where they sell a full LED conversion kit for my M? Or do I need to order the bulbs separate?

I ordered mine as a set off eBay for less than 20bucks shipped.
You will need to order an extra light mentioned below cuz the trunk actually has 2 lights.
I ordered 3 extra light (4th one that has 6 SMD) cuz I did my foot wells. I used the covers from inside the trunk and switched out with the footwells. I don't use my trunk since I have a huge box, no room for anything else. If your use your trunk then I wouldn't recommend it, or u can find find some covers, I was lucky and bought them off a guy that was parting out his M.

One of my 6000k parking lights that I ordered from DDMtuning went out earlier this week. I went and checked my order history for a replacement and the product is no longer available. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a 6000k replacement for this bulb? Seems like the part numbers are much different now?

Thanks

Hi, BlinG*. I'm not sure what bulb configuration you have as parking lights (360 Degree, Forward Facing, etc.) but here are the 6K White 194 versions that will work as parking light bulbs:

*In order of total light output/lumens*

"6K WHITE 8 LED BULBS" - http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-8-led-bul ... -pair.html (Output Rated 2)

"6K WHITE 3 CHIP 5 LED LIGHT BULBS" - http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-3-chip-5- ... -pair.html (Output Rated 3 - I used a 5K White earlier version for years before upgrading to the "Standard 5K White 194 6 LED")

"6K WHITE HIGH POWER LICENSE PLATE MAP PARKING LED BULBS" - http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-high-powe ... -pair.html (Output Rated 3 - I use the 5K White version as my license plate bulbs)

"Standard 6K White 194 6 LED" - http://www.vleds.com/6-6k.html (Output Rated 4 - I use the 5K White version as my parking light bulbs)

"6K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS" - http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-4-led-2w- ... -pair.html (Output Rated 5 - VERY bright, I use the 5K White version as my trunk lights)

If you want a nice, bright 360 degree lighting look, you should get the "Standard 6K White 194 6 LED". If you want the brightest lighting for the parking light application, you should get the "6K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS". Hope this information helps! :luck:

I guess I came in too late as the main "how to" posts and pics have been deleted. Any ideas on how to change regular interior lights to LED?

Thanks,

Having never done this before on a M37 that I've owned for no longer than a couple of weeks, is this package a good deal for upgrading interior lights to LEDs?

Thanks guys!

Hi drewsky,

I believe that package you have shown is not really about if it is a good deal or not, but if the light output is optimal. I have never dealt with precisionled.com, and for 4 pairs of lights to take care of the domes and the lower door courtesies, some people may say that the current price of $49.99 is too high. You will still need several more lights to make most of your lights in your car LED. You can purchase from precisionled.com and try them out if you'd like, but I'll just give you my 2 cents about the installation, and what I would do if I had your model M. You may do with the advice as you please. :)

I am not sure what color you are going for but precisionled.com's LEDs come in a lowest Kelvin of 6,000K (hint of blue). I typically like to have my LEDs look as stock (HID 4,300K) as possible, so I go for the 5K White lights from vleds.com. I will list the lights that I would get, in a 5K and 6K version, interior and exterior so you can pick the color you want.

Fog/Driving Light: H8 ----- HID Kit - http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... ts_id=3952 Choose options: Ballasts - 35 W, Kelvin - 3,000K (Yellow), 4,300K (Stock HID) 5,000K (slight hint of blue) or 6,000K (hint of blue), Wire Harness - H8, Wire Harness Type - Heavy Duty Relay.

Parking Light: 194 ----- 5K White - http://www.vleds.com/6-5k.html 6K White - http://www.vleds.com/6-6k.html

Front Turn Signal: 992 (7440A) ----- 5K or 6K White Amber Switchback V3 Triton: 5K Version - http://www.vleds.com/v3-wa-5k.html 6K Version - http://www.vleds.com/v3-wa-6k1.html Follow my How To writeup to install: how-to-install-5k-or-6k-white-amber-swi ... 81284.html This writeup is not for your car model, but I am sure the process is similar.

*Front Sidemarker: 194 ----- The 2011+ M's do not come with a sidemarker, but in case you wanted to install one, here is info based on the 2006-2010 M configuration: VLEDs currently doesn't sell the CAN-Bus proof Amber sidemarker that I purchased from them, so here is an alternate sidemarker that should work for your car: Amber - http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-T10-W5W-194- ... a1&vxp=mtr

Dome Light: BA9S ----- Check your stock dome lights before you purchase these to make sure these are the same type of bulb: VLEDs currently doesn't sell the 5K 5 LED BA9S dome light, so here are some alternatives: 5K-6K Colors - 1) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-T11-BA9S-Wh ... 66&vxp=mtr 2) http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-BA9S-T4W-H6W ... ce&vxp=mtr 3) http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-high-powe ... -pair.html ...and the brightest pair - 4) http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-high-powe ... -pair.html

Footwell Lights: 194 ----- Check your stock footwell light before you purchase these to make sure these are the same type of bulb. Underbody Side Puddle Courtesy Lights: DIY ----- This is optional, but I think these lights enhance the look of the car, and...the 2014 Q50 now has puddle lights that can be factory installed as an accessory! If you want to install these, follow my How To: underbody-side-puddle-courtesy-light-in ... 64780.html This writeup is not for your car model, but I am sure the process is similar.

Please let us know how the installation went (pics would be nice as well). I hope this helps! :luck:

Wow, awesome info, moedawg! To be sure, those lights would work on a 2011 M37, then? I only ask because I see most posts here reference older M35s, and I don't know if they are interchangeable or not.

Again, many thanks!

Oh, and another question -- are you able to swap the door handle light for an LED as well or is that more complicated?

You're welcome, drewsky. They should work without any issues. I would definitely check out your bulb configurations to be perfectly sure. The ones where I mentioned to check...check, because I'm not 100 percent sure about those ones. But just take a look at your stock bulbs, and then the bulbs that are referenced to you to make sure. Simple as that. :)

Welcome to NICO, joekitch!

No. I haven't had the need to open up the center console and tinker with it. You can always change the bulbs if you desolder the orange/other colored ones and solder in new ones...but I'm pretty sure they will not come out the exact way you would want. Or you can purchase and install the 2008-2010 M35/M45 clock, radio and A/C control assemblies, and other parts like the kickplates and window switches that can be purchased from the dealership (exorbitant prices for sure), eBay, Craigslist or a pick-your-part/junkyard. As for the instrument cluster, the LEDs are integrated into the cluster, so the best thing to do is install a 2008-2010 M35/M45 instrument cluster, as shown here (scroll down until you get to this timestamped post "Fri Nov 01, 2013 5:32 pm"): new-headlight-idea-grill-mod-and-ink-pe ... 64-30.html This is of course if you purchase a 2006 M35 (I saw in your "Car" description you said '2006 M35, maybe? 2004 M45, maybe?').

If you decide to change the color of the dash LEDs after purchasing the 2006 M35 or 2004 M45, please post pics and your installation process as well if you can. Thanks! :mike

Hi patmcd06, welcome to NICO!

Yes, I did write that, and VLEDs currently does not sell the 31mm Festoon non-CAN-Bus proof LEDs that I purchased for my car (you can make the lights work by installing a 31mm Festoon adapter and panel LED set), so here are some alternatives: 5K-6K Colors - 1) http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-White-LED-Ca ... 5e&vxp=mtr 2) http://www.ebay.com/itm/31mm-12-LED-SMD ... 0f&vxp=mtr 3) http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-31mm-3243-64 ... 3a&vxp=mtr

If you purchase the CAN-Bus proof lights via the link you provided they will probably not work. I tried using a CAN-Bus proof BA9S LED map light (VLEDs updated their BA9S to a brighter light), and the light would not light up. Not lighting up would be the worst that would happen if you installed the festoon CAN-Bus proof LED lights.

thanks for the update...will all 3 options you just listed be plug and play, or will I need an adapter?? The 3 options I listed are plug and play. You will not need an adapter for these options. You can tell when a light is plug and play because the light(s) and circuit board is/are attached/soldiered onto the corresponding connector (194, 3175, BA9S, 74, etc.) If you see a panel light set with wires attached to an end connector, you know that one will need an adapter.

Judging by the pictures of the ebay lights from the link (and the other links I listed), they look to be around the 5K color (slight hint of blue) and not the 6K color (hint of blue). You can purchase them and hope they are the color you are looking for. However, if you want to be sure to receive the 6K color, you can install a 31mm Festoon adapter and 6K LED panel set. Here is the one I would get:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/3175-31mm-led/diy6hp.html - Choose options:

Choose Color * - HP LED 6K WHITE MULTI SOCKET...
Qty: 2

Choose Base Adapter * - DIY LED BASE ADAPTER 3175 DE3175 31MM
Qty: 2

Hope this helps! :luck:

Hi guys, old thread I know. But, the pictures and text on the OP's first post in this thread are gone on my screen. Anyone else have the problem? I want to convert to a full LED interior, but definitely need some guidance and pics  lol

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure no one can see those pics... VLEDS.com is the place for all your LED needs.

This conversion isn't necessary anymore as most bulbs are plug and play now. The original post is 7 years old...

I know some of the bulbs have changed/ been upgraded over the years since most of these LED upgrade posts are a few years old.

Is there a latest list of VLEDs bulbs for completing an interior and exterior LED conversion?

I have a 2008 M35X that I'm looking at converting to 6K.

Yeah I wasn't looking for the pics for wiring/splicing if that was even in the original post, I just wanted to know how to actually access them lol  but I just now thought of looking in ILYA's how to thread.. Has to be there
