Project looks like it's nicely coming along. I wish you still lived in Cali man. I would totally romance you with pizza, alcohol and weed to help me out with my car.

The Mazdaspeed community are full of d*** and I don't trust any of them.
:spitout: :rotfl :rotflmao You're cracking me up! Maybe I should be watching my back when I go to Laguna Seca?

Hey Ace, What engine is getting machined?

My latest learned'd was removing a screw and installing a plug in my wife's tire. It really is as easy as it looks!
I dunno, but the forum with the most info and most activity are so uptight that it makes it hard to ask any question without causing a flame war, even if you've searched. They do it on Facebook as well, so I imagine they're like that in person as well. I avoid them at all costs.

I honestly have spare parts for probably half a dozen working machines, but they'd be pretty sad. The best would end up with an i3 and an R9 270 or something like that. Basically an entry level rig from 4 years ago at best. I have gobs of core 2 duos laying around but they're hot garbage.

i7 6700k, Asus GTX 1080 Strix, 16GB DDR4, off-brand Corsair H90 rebadge, 120GB SanDisk SSD, 500GB Samsung 850 Evo, 2 TB 10k spinner, 3TB 7200rpm spinner, and an 800W PSU.

Also has an actual soundblaster for 5.1 surround since the mobo is cheap and only does stereo.
Needs another 16GB or so of RAM but I don't have any spare DDR4 around so I haven't done that yet.

I did a write up on that while back. Looks like I need to update it with fresh picture links.

I've never plugged a tire myself but I feel like it's one of those things I should definitely know how to do.

Maybe I'll have them leave me one of the PSS takeoffs when I get them replaced this summer so I can make some holes and practice.

Yep, that's basically all that one's for. Non-gaming DD duties go to the Surface Pro 4 (i7 6650U) or W520 (i7 2760QM with Quadro 1000M).
I'm intrigued by Ryzen and tempted to upgrade my older Bloomfield i7 (920) with a Ryzen 5 (CPU+Mobo+RAM should be no more than $350) since Intel is just sitting on their asses since Skylake.

Also @#$% Photobucket. I hope they die painfully clutching their beloved subscription money (I paid for hosting there for years but this move actually made me CANCEL).

I'll take it. I'm gaming on a HP elitebook from like 6 years ago.

I got the hell out of there just in time.
I landed in Memphis Tuesday night (or Wednesday morning just after midnight or so), and was astonished to see actual, liquid fresh water running in fountains and such outside on my walk to the car haha.

Glad you;re safe man. I thought TN was going to be hit by that storm, too, no?

I don't have anywhere else to say this, but I have an incredibly deep and immature urge to say this: being high while: watching Blue Planet is pretty damn entertaining and eating toasted peanut butter and honey sandwiches is the best new thing I've found in awhile.

Yeah, I watched some videos about moving quickly to keep pressure up (didn't know of the write up of course). Ours was a screw, so I easily unscrewed it out, that was lucky. It was also a slow leak, so it already had pressure in there. I knew that air would come out fast, so I had the reamer ready right away. Before pulling that out, I already had the plug threaded through the needle thing and applied the glue just before pulling the reamer. The hard part was the Oomph needed to push the plug in. It would be way hard without tire pressure pushing back. I think you'd need to add air before getting started maybe. Moving quickly I lost little pressure and topped it off with a bicycle pump. The best part is my wife thinks I'm awesome! ;)

New England got clobbered as they always do during nor 'easters. Here in the Philly area we got about 5" of drifting powder + wind and low temps. As far as the "Bomb Cyclone", a term being overused around here by weather coverage obsessed local tv stations, most folks around here still think that term means an old Mercury. ;)

I've seen a picture of MA that shows flooded streets that froze. Literally an ice rink. I can't even imagine what those cars are going to look like after the ice melts.

Pun Score: 7
Bonus for effort but docked for missing the obvious choice:
