Yes. You should totally grow some steak.

This reminds me, I saw a girl around town wearing a shirt that said "grass fed". It made me lol, then moo.

jeez my phone take s*** pictures sometimes. ok, from left to right:

beefsteak tomatoes (just planted a sliced tomato yesterday)
marigolds (came back from last year)
rosemary (just starting to sprout)
thyme (almost doubled in height since i got it)
cherry tomatoes (sprouting very well after planting sliced tomatoes about a week and a half ago)
the long pot has basil (just sprouted), green bell peppers (no activity), and green beans (almost ready for a larger pot).

i have to prep an area in the yard to eventually transplant it all. soil tilling and cutting down a tree that will block the sun light. good thymes :chuckle:

Random rant:

It drives me freaking CRAZY when people refer to their car as a "Ford Fusion 2009" (for example).

It's a 2009 Ford Fusion. What part of your brain causes you to reverse your descriptors?
Do you call it a "house 3-storey red big"?
Is it a "Plus 7 Apple iPhone"?

No. Because that sounds stupid. Just like "Ford Fusion 2009" or "Toyota Camry 2013"

PS:
In the spirit of Tito's botanical posting, garden pics from the House of DOOM shall follow soon.

Nice start, Tito! When'd you start green thumbing?

Our garden is kicking along, too. I tend to plant things that cost more than I care to spend on them in the grocery store.
Right now Broccoli is making progress. Its a fall/winter harvest veggie so I'm not too worried about it. Currently more than sprouts. I saved two tomato plants that my wife pretty much killed/starved of water and planted two more. I need to get some of those cone thingys.

My sugar snap peas, though doing incredibly well and are hugely tall, have only just begun to flower and produce something.
The herbs and lettuce are kicking a** as well. I keep pulling leaves off of the lettuces so they regen. Not sure how long that'll last, but we certainly don't need the huge head that is there. Thai basil is at maturity and keeps flowering. I have to keep ripping them off. Basil, parsley, and thyme all need bigger pots, they've outgrown their shared nursery.

Our apple tree will be in full bloom this year after overbearing two years ago and giving us nothing last year. So, now what we know how to take care of it and know to 'prune it' instead of just leaving fruit on the tree, we can hopefully get a more consistent yield year over year.

Not sure why people are too dumb to repeat what they hear on the radio with regards to year and model of car, but I tend to just sigh and be happy that I have at least *some* mechanical knowledge and respect for one of the most important parts of our day to day lives.

it started last year with the marigold. yes, singular. i got one stalk with a single flower to grow. it ended up sprouting everything you see in the pic this year. then i tried an avocado pit, which is on a window sill atm. it's got about a 3" root coming down, i'm just waiting for it to fully split open and the stem to come up. after that it was more like "what else can i do".

I want to do the avocado thing. Love those. I hear you have to have two plants, maybe a male and female for them to work? Nice garden!

As promised: The Garden of DOOM

Broccoli and Tomatoes (little heirloom one second from the right is not doing well at all...not sure why)

Zucchini, cabbage, and parsley. Oh, and the tree's an Eastern Redbud.

Edamame, Corn, onions, serrano, and jalapeno

Artichokes and corn

Strawberries, raspberries, and pumpkins shoots from seeds from last year; I'll probably have to trim all but one back; they take over.

Different strawberries (ever-bearing; these ones spread out a lot more)

Another pumpkin, this one deliberate.

One of my gatekeepers watching over the cabbage so it doesn't get all buggy and slimy.

Right-to-left: Peaches, Apricots, Pears, and a poor pine tree that was mutilated by my home's previous occupants.

i haven't heard anything about male and female plants. all i've read was that fruit bearing plants are kind of hit or miss. being in new england, i'm not hopeful for fruit, it's more of an experiment and it would make a nice summer porch plant and winter indoor plant.

nice garden there, chris. i've always wanted to do hot peppers. tonight, i'm actually going to be dropping the tree over my designated garden area. i'd like to till the soil with some grass clippings i have. speaking of grass clippings, i was thinking about starting an actual compost pile for the garden. maybe. we'll see how my first foray into all this goes.

Doom, you sure planting Serrano peppers next to Jalapenos is a good decision? I only say because my grandfather once planted Jalapenos and Habeneros in separate pots and placed them next to each other. When time came to pick and eat the Jalapenos, hottest darn Jalapeno I've ever had! Much hotter than a Jalapeno should be.

there are lots of tomatoes still growing, nothing ripe yet, so it may be fried green tomatoes for me. had some of the green beans, they were tasty. the basil is delicious, green peppers aren't doing s***. whatever sprouted in the rosemary pot was not rosemary, so i just ended up getting an established plant that i hope to transplant outside next year.

also, this has been welded up and is almost ready to put onto my buddy's dodge

it's getting new fenders, doors, and some other body work on the cab. we have already done the floor boards, which was nice because lots of exhaust fumes came right through the floor while sitting at idle. made winter plowing a bit rough.

Great yards! Gives me inspiration. I have the yard, just need the time (and a little $, not a lot). I really like your setup MoD. That's close to what I dream about. Lawn, perimeter plantings, some fruit bearing trees spread around the corners... Someday! Your's also Numbnuts! I like your old stone and brick building to. Those tomatoes really popped up! I'm building a shed for now, nothing worthy of a photo. I level the dirt, go to work, the dog digs up the dirt, I come home and level it again...

Interesting. Hadn't thought about that, but I want my peppers to pack some heat for salsa, so if that's the case it's an upside for me!

Thanks!!!!

My days got crazier than normal as a result I've been very busy and haven't had as much time for the yard, so the garden has run a little rampant since these pictures were taken, unfortunately. Missed the onion harvest, the zucchini caught some kind of fungus, and I haven't had time to make salsa so the peppers and tomatoes are going to waste. :(

Damn, y0. Where is everyone? Seems like almost every car forum I've ever been on died. I know the need for information is still there and there is still a revolving door of noobs asking questions when they have their hands on a car they've never had before, so where did they all go?

And so I can triple post like before, I notice we have custom titles again. Are those only available for staff and vendors, or to site contributors as well? If to contributors, I should have one. I remember I earned a custom title before I became a mod here. I just can't remember how it was I earned it lol.

Yea, Facebook enthusiast pages have not been good for forums. Which I find really dumb, because you can't search for info on them. So it's the same noob questions over and over again. It's been a while since we did custom titles. I think it was for writing an article for the main page.

Yeah, Facebook pages is s***. Just a bunch of people masterbating to each other with no real info. I'll forever prefer forums over Reddit, Facebook, and anything else in similar platforms.

Right? So many people seemed to have just fallen off the face of this thread and the planet. Razi, Mellow, Official NICO Post Whore, Becky, Dattebayo, Otto, Gir, and a slew of other names I can't remember anymore. Where they all at?
