Are you thinking of getting rid of it? I could pick that up if the price was right...

I'll let you know if I do. I haven't quite got there yet. The only reason i'm even slightly considering it is because it just barely gets used now. The only reason I think I hold onto it is for the Torque OBDII app and my kid uses it sometimes when we're on a long trip.

I just want a decent tablet for paperwork and signatures at work. I'm eating through paper like crazy and it just doesn't make sense anymore. I love camscanner, and it's really going to make a huge difference when I can take service calls on the fly...

I would buy another cheapie one, but they only seem to last a few weeks before the crap out or get a serious problem.

So with 8 new plugs and 8 new coils, the LS8 is running great and sounding better than ever.

I figured I'd try to get a wind-free recording of the exhaust note under normal driving. Took my old android phone, started up a sound recorder, wrapped it in cloth, and fastened it to the backside of the rear bumper. Great theory...the recording was wind-free.

Unfortunately, my old phone's mic picks up exactly -300% bass. So the recording sounds tinny and rattly, like a race-tuned hemi (real Hemi, not the modern garbage). Doesn't sound anything like the actual car. My new phone's mic picks up bass just fine, but I'm not about to strap it to my bumper and go for a drive.

Hmm, maybe you need a trunk money with the exhaust recorder option...

Morning fellas!

Ran the Tough Mudder yesterday on Mt Snow. The lady did it with me and looked like she wanted to quit about 6 times, but she hung in there and finished it up with me. It was a good time, got a red neck and a million dollar tan.
The family that plays together...

Because I'm picky and it drives me nuts:

"Droid" is a moronic re/sub-brand from Verizon because being a carrier isn't enough for them. Instead, they take the Mercury route and dilute product distinction in the name of badge engineered "brand identity" because everyone knows that works so well.

Android is an operating system. Droid is a badge-engineered product line. Different things. Using Droid universally is like calling every computer a Dell.

That said, I have a Dell from 2006 at home. Works great. Even upgraded the RAM.

Wish I was closer! Crushing some Yueng and working on the car sounds like good times. Course I'm assuming you'd also be making something awesome for dinner!

Its always awesome to have a helping hand, even if that hand is just giving you a fresh beer!

The lady isn't coming home tonight (sisters graduation), so I'm probably half assing dinner with a Frescheta pizza.
Last night I made some roasted garlic (4 damned heads!) and tomato soup with some grilled ham and cheese. Because 'murrica.

I took a page out of Greg's book and have been selling s*** around the house that I don't need. Listed some of my old Jnco Jeans on Ebay last night. Didn't list a reserve and made my starting price $9. Woke up to a barrage of emails with folks who want to buy them at that price. Its an auction, dammit. I'm not selling them to you for $9!! I expect about $25 for each pair based on ended auctions.

I would reply, "Did you see a BUY NOW button? No, cause buy now aint an option!" Unless of course you list a buy now price of $25.

Mah, no Buy It Now option. There seemed to be a lot of other sellers doing that and figured my auction would look more attractive and get a couple of dudes in a bidding war over 10+ year old jeans. I really don't care what I get for them, but I'm sure they'll crest my initial asking price.

In other news, the Legacy has a bad head gasket. Tell tale signs of coolant in the oil with the lovely chocolate milk shake color, thin consistency, and frothy oil are all present. The smell isn't there and there isn't oil in my coolant yet, but bastard! Being that I still owe on the car and really don't want another car payment, I'm going to have to replace them. Who wants to come over for an engine pulling party?

I didn't even know that JNCO jeans were a thing anymore. I remember them from years ago.

I toss stuff on eBay every so often that I don't use anymore. I just sold my old ASUS Transformer tablet a couple of weeks ago along with some misc old Maxima parts I had laying around.

I think eBay can really screw you over sometimes though, because they always protect the buyer, which is great for the buyer but not for the seller - whether they're being honest or not. I sold the tablet I mentioned above and it went for $125 shipped. I fully inspected it, cleaned it, and wiped all the data off of it before sending it. Included a nice leather case, new screen protector, spare charger, and spare cable at no extra cost. The dude gets it and files a case against me on eBay saying I lied about the condition, claiming that the screen had a blemish on it. I ended up having to give him a small partial refund to get him to drop the case or I would've had to take the thing back. I was pretty pissed, because it was the third time i've tried to sell it on there. On the two other failed sales the buyers never paid. Lame.

Ray, that sucks on the Subie! That's why i've officially marked Subie's off my list of wanted cars altogether. Those head gasket issues can EAD. A buddy of mine asked me if he should replace the head gaskets on a friends Forrester and I told him he had lost his mind if he did. He did it and said he would never touch one again. The worst part was the owner had put like 3 cans of stop leak in it trying to stop the leaks. It was FULL of gunk, had bent valves, and i'm honestly surprised it still ran.

Ugh. Yeah, I've had a couple of horror stories on Ebay. One of the first things I tried to sell were some riding boots. I was the second owner and the rust from the exhaust had worn on them to where it wasn't coming off at all. Someone buys them, they ship. A week later I get a huge rant from this b**** about how she is an RN and there is dried blood on the boots! I could have punched her in the throat if I could. Ended up having to pay for the shipping back to me and refunding her. I resold them again for more money, so all actually ended up well.
The folks who bid on ebay expect gold for bronze, I swear.

So far I haven't put any stop leak stuff in the engine (and won't!) but the problem is new, or at least within the past 3,000 miles. No major harm done. I'm going to have to park it and tear into it before winter. Gonna be a funnnnn time researching Subarus. If I could pay Joe to come out and help me, I would. The general price for the job is just shy of two grand. Yep, definitely doing that one myself.

Even a freggin V8 is easier than the flat engines.
