It's the "Giant" brand grocery delivery service.

But personally, I go to Giant for only a few things I can't get anywhere else, their house-brand products are quite inferior to Safeway's in this area...

Afternoon everyone!

If anyone needs to buy brakes right now, Wagner is running a $30 mail in rebate(or $15/per axle) on Thermoquiet brake pads.

I bought mine through Amazon since we have a Prime membership. I got pads and rotors all the way around for $97 shipped. They're not the Hawk pads and the Stoptech rotors I would like to have, but for 70% cheaper they'll do just fine. I don't plan on putting it through a lot of punishment anytime soon anyways so upgraded brakes are not a big concern right now.

Did the plugs on the 540 today, old ones were spent. She purrs like an angry cat now...might be time for muffler by Garret!

Do it. Do it. Do it.

I can't wait to get the Miata boosted. After the brakes all the maintenance should be caught up and I can start buying more turbo parts.

M62 is pure sex. One of my favorite engines. They sound incredible and torque all the time.

If it wasn't for the BS VANOS variable cam timing crap the motor would be noteworthy. But since the VANOS fails on every M62 ever made it falls into the, "meh" category for me. Any modern V8 can gen up gobs of torque. Building a motor with the proper seal material would be a good start. BMW employs lots of engineering skill when designing their cars but somehow they always manage to skimp on important stuff.

Anyway, I don't think I'm losing all that much low end torque, which is the problem with failed VANOS. But it ticks at idle pretty loudly, like a very loud injector firing. Almost diesel like.

I had an M60 (b40) in my E34 - pretty similar just without the VANOS. Great engine with lots of power and even though it was a Nikasil block was at 155K with zero problems.

The only weird thing I remember about that engine is that it basically had two oil pans, an upper and a lower. Pretty sweet engine though and car overall as it was my first experience owning a German car. The E39's are nice too. My buddy had a 540/6 and my mom currently has a 530.

The VANOS doesn't really bother me, it's just noisy. Supposedly it causes loss of low end torque, but I don't notice it. Then again, I bought it with a bad VANOS, so perhaps I just don't miss it because I never had it.

It's traction limited if I romp on it, so it has more than enough torque to get the job done. I'm coming up on the big 200k. Should hit it this summer. No major issues yet, coil packs, some suspension stuff and fluids.

If the M62 dies on me I'll just swap in an LSx/6spd.

I am finally happy with this damn thing. I have finally got the Saucy version of Ubuntu to have functionality similar to Windows 7... with better reliability. No more crashing or unexpected error application closes. I got rid of Libre and put Apache's OpenOffice in it's place, and oala, I can finally read .docx files with the proper formatting. I also got the last Adobe Reader made for Linux so I can read my FSM collection like it should be read and can sign my work documents the paperless way using my touchscreen laptop.

I wish they'd make an easy "how-to" instructional for alternative OSes like Linux. It seems I have to learn a new way to unpack a download every time I want to get something new...

I remember that being the only thing I didn't care for with Linux was the weird unpacking procedures for things outside of the app store. I've always stuck with Windows, but I always enjoy tinkering with Linux every once in a while. I just haven't found one that I like as a daily driver OS for one of my computers.

Well this version of Ubuntu is totally sound as of this moment. I can handle everything I need for work with it as it is now and am getting better with the Terminal as I go.

I am just happy I don't have to use the Windows boot to handle everything now. Several things are now taking half the time they used to because of it.

I think it's like an onion in that it makes your eyes tear up while you cut each layer, except with that taco, those tears come while you pollute the bathroom after eating it...

I just love that they finish the absurdness by wrapping it in what appears to be a crepe and then deep fry the whole mess.

I kinda feel like the pepperoni pizza would destroy the flavor tho. :/

Got a new HDD in the ole laptop. Man I love how your machine runs after a fresh format! I'll tell you what though, being at the very end limits of DSL service sucks in a big way when you're trying to redownload games and updates :bs:

Take your kids to the ball pit at Micky D's and bogart their WiFi to download your games!

The "sea of balls" is one of the nastiest places on the planet. If you let your kids go in there, wash their hands and face immediately after they get out. Strip their clothes when they get home...maybe burn them.

I said f*** it and burned some data, used the wifi hotspot app on my phone. Let's me DL at 1.3 to 1.7 mbs. Which is a touch better than 103ish kbs over DSL.

Thank Satan my new house has Comcast service!

Shoot, I was thinking this was the new house!
Thats a sigh of relief man. My home was supposed to have DSL, but surprisingly Charter had internet for $29.99/mo. They don't throttle me, and if/when they decide to, I call, b****, and then its resolved.

LS8 is back with 8 new ignition coils and brand new, properly-sealing coil covers! She runs great. Still have an EGR code but it doesn't affect operation and I have no emissions testing so SCREW YOU EARTH I WILL CRAP HYDROCARBONS IN YOUR FACE.

Morning folks!
Work gave me an iphone. Despite everyone saying its intuitive, I'm struggling. I don't know what an appleid is and its making everything difficult and this thing would be better off set on fire.

Ray, iPhone's are simple. It just takes some time to get used to, especially if you haven't used anything but a Blackberry. Trust me, an Android phone would be 100x worse if you're hating the iPhone right now.

Brian, DROID phones can EAD. Seriously. EAD. Making the switch to an iPhone was the best move i've made phone wise. 3 months with zero crashes, bugs, or general stupidity. I don't even pick up my Nexus 7 tablet anymore, because if i'm not in front of a PC I have no need for anything else but the iPhone. It does everything I need with zero fuss.

They're still essentially text messages or media messages, they just send quicker and work more like a messenger. I'll PM you my number, since i'd rather it not be on public forums ;)
