You knew that walking in. ;) Here, people do not buy trucks for fuel efficiency. You buy them because you like them and you like to drive them. So, are you kinda glad that first dealership screwed you over?

THIS.

Fuel economy has been thrown out of the equation for my next vehicle purchase. A V8 is required, unless it has a turbo strapped to it but it better be a whole lot of awesome if it's lacking V8 power.

I really intended to buy a truck for my next vehicle, but I honestly cannot find anything in a truck that really does it for me. I like the Tundra a lot, but not really enough to pay the price for it.

I LOVE my Titan. 2008 Pro4x with 40k miles. It's the perfect truck. I love the cloth seats, the layout of the stock stereo is very subtle and easy on the eyes, the red stitching makes everything pop nicely. Exterior styling is nice and aggressive, but not over the top like the new Tundra. Engine is beastly. Has a lot of get up and go power, and makes a nice, deep growl while doing so.

I'm ecstatic the other truck was s***. I love this one. I'm not a fan of them trying to screw me out of $150, but they'll come around once I start getting really aggressive.

Also, Greg mentioned a possibility of having a new "NICOclub Rescue Truck" windshield decal made up? How much to get one of those? I think it would go well with the color of my Titan.

Yea, the Titan can't claim anything close to being "green". Luckily, I quite enjoy angering environmentalists.

Done. Stupid Mitsubishi. I should go find it and light it on fire.

Actually, it's probably already crushed in a junkyard somewhere. What a POS.

You know, it probably is still running. As much as I hated that car, it was a tank. I went something like 12k miles without changing the oil once just cause I didn't care enough to change it. Developed a valve tap, changed the oil, and it was back to running fine. I beat the piss out of that thing. I'm convinced it's invincible.

Speaking of oil changes, I know you really hate Cardinal Way Mazda right now but if you know anyone who needs their oil changed this month, they have a special. $1.99. Any car. No promo codes necessary. I'm assuming hybrids would be more but the ad says "come one, come all".

f*** those guys. They still owe me $150.

I'm sure the service department is good, but I want to burn down the sales area and punch Bob Lackner in the face.

Is the $150 part of your deposit or a different charge?

That was for the key I had cut and programmed when the sales guys and I thought it was an issue with the microchip in the key not being recognized.

Had the vehicle just been messed up and I returned it, I'd eat the cost. But the fact that they were told by Peoria Nissan that it had a massive issue and they neglected to tell me, I want to be compensated. I don't give a damn that you're already losing money by selling it at auction. You lied to me, and need to make it right.

WTF?!?!

I have been fighting with ignition coil issues on my LS8 since shortly after I bought it. It's a known issue by Ford, and there are TSBs for it. I've replaced a coil myself and done some of the preventative/corrective work from the TSBs myself. I've also had it at a few different Ford dealers for diagnostics.

Until today, NONE of them bothered to tell me that there's a 10/100 extended warranty for this issue. I took it into a local Ford dealership and they called me back, said "Don't freak out when you see the invoice, we approved $1500 of work because it's under warranty." They replaced 8 coils, coil covers, and some other corrective stuff. Bam. Done.

I had researched the heck out of the issue and never seen anything about extended warranty online, either. I guess my Google-fu is nowhere near as good as I thought.

Best part: I'm about 7 months and 1600 miles from 10 years/100,000 miles. So if I'd waited any longer I'd have been doomed.

At least it's all warrantied. I'm just out of Nissan's powertrain warranty. Only 40k miles, but 6 years old.

There's no excuse for anything less than a 10/100 comprehensive warranty for any car made after 2000. If you make such crummy cars that you can't afford that, you don't deserve to be in business.

Also, since the parts won't be in for a few days, the dealer pulled the coil covers for me (they were RTV'd on as a stopgap for the coil problem). So I replaced my right bank of spark plugs. Cylinder 3 plug chamber was FULL of oil. The coil was soaking in it. No wonder I was getting a Cylinder 3 misfire!!! I think there's a bad gasket between the valvecover and the cylinder head. I'll probably have to replace it. It's shouldn't be too bad a job...the LS8 engine bay is cramped (some of the engine back under the cowl) but the heads are largely exposed and free to access. No pulling off manifolds or any crap like I'd have to do on an older Nissan.

Maybe I'll get lucky and the valvecover gasket will be covered by the warranty, too.

Agreed. Never understood why some manufacturers don't offer 10/100.

That's one reason we bought our Kia. Plus we paid extra for it to be covered bumper to bumper until 100k, not just the power train.

That's awesome news on the warranty though other Chris. It's always nice to get good news that you wouldn't expect.

My wife was looking at the Crosstrek last year, we actually came close to buying one sight unseen from Andy. Anyway, I went by the Dodge dealership just to check out the Dart. They had this huge area full of toys for the kids. So that was f*** awesome. Then they offered $3100 more for our trade-in than the 4 other places we had been. Then they threw in a 10/100 bumper-to-bumper warranty. The 10/100 did it for me, being as it was the Darts first model year and Dodge isn't well known for making a good trans.

We left with a loaded Dart. Haven't had a single issue and Kate loves it.

We actually intended to go to a bunch of dealers and not buy anything the same day. After Nissan didn't offer us squat for the Commander, we decided to stop in Kia because I had talked to one of the salesman before and he seemed like a pretty decent guy. They paid off the Commander, when we should've been upside down and came in below what we were looking to spend so it was an easy sell.

Well almost left Kia and went to Toyota though, but only because they couldn't find a model with the options we wanted and a color we liked. I finally scoured the lot for a few minutes while waiting on Kristen and spotted ours. So after that we were sold. I'd absolutely buy another car from them in the future too. Best dealership experience i've had in years.

I knew a Toyota or Mazda would've lasted us for a lot longer most likely, but the way I looked at it with the Kia is it will have been paid off for 5 years or more before we run out of warranty. If it makes it 10 years without having to come out of pocket for a major repair then it's well worth what we paid for it and i'll be pleased. So far it's been a great SUV and Kristen absolutely loves it.
