Anthropology says that modern humans are barely that old. MoD won't stand for that, though.

This guy I know has a sc400 and it's nice as hell. I don't know what you mean by boring all the time...

The problem with IS300s being common is exacerbated by the fact that EVERY SINGLE ONE I SEE has the same look. Nobody does anything different with them. They're indistinguishable. They're honestly becoming the new Civic.
If someone found one and did something very different with it, it'd be amazing.

This. Life has been around for hundreds of millions of years on earth alone. Only we short-sighted humans think of 40,000 years as something of significance.

You guys are right, though. Ever since I bought the IS300, I've started seeing about 5 on a daily basis. The truth is, after I had to pay an arm and a leg for a bumper reinforcement bar, I'm considering just painting it and selling it.

Most recent estimates put it around 4 billion... right after the planet was formed, actually.

I just can't escape that feel that no matter what you do to it, it's going to stay the same 'bland'

and the weird thing is, it's not a bad car, fuel mileage is okay, it's zippy, handles okay, and with traction off it's a really amazing car ( my 3sge altezza at least)
maybe I need mines with a 2jz turbo in it.

OR I should just get a bland aristo. with a turbo.
then I could at least be true to my name.

Lol, but there will be no body kit (lip kit, even), tinted windows, blacked out lights, hard parking, stupid low ride height, stretched rubber band tires, nor insane amounts of negative camber. As this will be my daily driver, IF I still have it this time next year, I'll just do a bland GTE/single swap aiming for 600+whp and 6 speed. Other than the engine and transmission, the car will remain looking stock. If it's gonna be bland It might as well look stock, right? The only other thing will have to be wider wheels with meaty tires.

I removed my wing/spoiler, my front lip, and I put 255/45 tires on the back. I almost turbo'd mine too. I totally should. LOL
I have a manifold, a t25, a custom made oil feed line. boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, triple gauge pod above the center console, turbo timer, safc, fmic..
* edit I also have an hks ssqv. *

and all I really need is intercooler piping, to fabricate an oil return line, and I'll be turbo running 5-7psi.

*second edit*
It makes no sense to turbo it however because i'm only on the island for another two months until i go off the country for nearly six.

So it'd be like starting and leaving unfinished project, and then starting all over again.

Meh, I don't care for horsepower numbers So I never went to a dyno (plus my car is stock, even if it wasn't doubt I'd go.. unless it's free :gapteeth: )
I'd be happy with the simple feeling of being sucked into my seat.
When i'm able to floor it and keep my head from touching the headrest I'll know I need more power.

Hehe. IMO, there's nothing wrong with setting a certain hp goal and going after it. As long as it's not for bragging rights.

Heading out for work. Will be back for chatting later.

Good morning all, everyone have a good weekend? I was pretty busy, although yesterday afternoon I spent basically the entire day out on the lake in a boat drinking beers... You know what they say, you can't drink all day unless you start early!

Quoted for truth. Every Good Friday we have a drink-a-thon that starts at 9:30am. Its pretty fantastic. Fall asleep by 9, wake up next day feeling great.

Looked at a home for rent. MUCH bigger than anything I've ever lived in, price is right, plenty of parking, and -gasp- a garage! No more being a Sherpa for all of my tools to get into the driveway when work needs to be done.
Its also in the middle of nowhere, no neighbors, and very, very close to the beach. Ya'll are welcome to stop by anytime and crash in the guest room.

Looks good with the exception of that grille. That grille is hideous and wouldn't look good on ANYTHING, but it is completely at odds with the IS's styling and looks extra horrible on that car.

Also, I have never understood the black roof thing. It looks silly. It ALMOST makes sense on cars with magnesium or CF roofs. But last time I checked, you can paint both of those just as well as steel or aluminum, so still silly. Unless your roof is GLASS, it should be body color. Or if it's a mini. Because union jack.

I agree with you, but black roofs do look good on vehicles with a small amount of surface area. I painted the roof of my 240 black and really liked it- but the body was a dark red and it matched pretty well. First and second gen MR2's and newer Z cars look pretty neat that way, too.
Image

Tacky body molding aside, this looks good.

However, a car with a bunch of real estate on the roof like a Probe looks awkward.

Nah. It's a contract with lockheed. She was laid off her job here in hampton roads, but DNS15 snatched her up. We're taking a slight pay cut. Supposedly she's going to be groomed for a GS with it. She has an interview with the small business administration that's a GS13. That would be a bangin' position
