SVTCOBRA, I doubt you have racked up enough miles on your 08x yet to warrant sparkplug changes, I picked up an 07x and was interested to find out if this problem carried over from the de to hr motor. Had an 03 Z awhile back, and I know all about the oil on plug issue. Have any info if this affects our v36 HR's?

I have 62K on the 08X and don't plan to replace the plugs til closer to 100K....but, I guess that I should check for oil leaks....

The plugs that I pulled on the 05 and 04 looked fine, but I replaced them since I was pulling them all out and they were not very costly.
10 years on this forum and still don't know engine codes or vehicle codes!!!
So, not sure what V36 HR equates to as far as vehicle make/model/year.

As for the G37's, I haven't heard much about them having this issue.

Here's what some are doing now... and I assume this would work on the FX35 as well?

About to pull the trigger on '04/'05 Maxima valve covers for my 2005 FX35...

Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work? Same valve covers, same intake, etc. :yesnod

just out of curiosity i found out fel pro makes valve cover gaskets that fits infiniti g35's. Atleast amazon seems to think so and there is one positive review by a g35 owner who successfully installed it.

Just search for "Fel-Pro VS50608R Valve Cover Gasket Set" in amazon and you will find it.

I was of the understanding that the entire valve cover has to be replaced since gaskets alone were not available.

Anyone aware of fel pro valve cover gaskets for infiniti g35's?

To add to the post, I own a 2008 g35x and did my plugs today at 87,500 miles on the ODO. My left rear spark plug(Passengers side rear) well was filled with oil and pooled in the valve cover, and the plug was essentially fouled out.
The right side(Drivers side) had oil on the threads but I hear that is normal, no pooling oil on the passengers side thank god. I do have an Ally premium coverage extended warranty, both valve covers are being replaced under warranty
(100 dollar deductible).

Doing your own maintenance pays off, you find things like this before your warranty expires. Plus I get a 2015 q50 as a loaner for the weekend! Infiniti on Camelback in Phoenix AZ is top notch.

@crazyboy3012 , The gasket that fails is the gasket between the spark plug tube and the valve cover, not the gasket seating the valve cover to the valve body, that kit wouldn't solve our issue.

Does this look like the right hardware to get the job done?

Those look like the tube gaskets within the valve cover, I wouldn't know the procedure to replace them, perhaps a tech on the forums here can advise ya.

I have a 2007 Sedan and am experiencing the same issue. Cylinder 5&6 both have oil over the spark plugs.

Oil in spark plug tube

Can someone explain why I have to replace a valve cover and not just the gasket?? Parts guy at the local Infiniti dealer said I could just replace the gaskets? Another guy said replace the o rings lol... From what I've read on this forum everyone seems to say replace the entire cover. Really just looking for an explanation
