Anybody has done it? which size you chose and why?
can't really decide what to do - buy new(larger) battery, swap it with car that is not being driven now, just charge that other battery and keep it in T32 with jumper cables... :D

going through battery size spreadsheets - I see quite a lot of options. because, according to my measurements - at least width allows ~2inch bigger battery, depth has about 1/2" allowance... probably should check height options too :D

Both the 1st and 2nd gens take a group size 35 battery. At least one member has replaced his 1st gen battery with a 24f, so I'd say it should fit in your car as well.

I think measuring is going to be your only good answer, but keep this in mind -- the effect of "smart charging" going stupid becomes much more deleterious as the CCA of the battery goes up. That's why Armadas and M56's have much more frequent problems with it than other models. Charge voltage being equal, once a giant battery becomes discharged it takes much longer to recover than a smaller one. So once a "dumb charge" puts it into the discharge toilet, it takes a lot more driving for it to climb out. If the customer never does long drives, the spiral into the toilet becomes unrecoverable and the vehicle eventually eats the battery from sulfation. So depending how much driving you do, a badder battery could be a bad idea.

yeah... did some measuring with conventional ruler and playdough pyramids on battery. :D
class 35 is 230x175x225mm
according to my measurements - there should fit anything up to 290x205x275

Vstars right, as usual. Nissans charging system just plain old sucks! I’ve got 3 new batteries installed, one is an agm on a warranty replacement from the dealer. All 3 in less than a month have lost 50% of their charge. I’ve been hooking them up once a week to my charger to get them back up. I just ordered a pulse tech charger that’s used by the military and supposedly elimates sulfation. I still get 3 yrs out of my batteries and could probably go long but I’m not that brave.
