I recently purchased an '08 Versa SL - traded in my SUV - Kia Sorento. Luv the gas mileage and comfort for a smaller vehicle, but I find that storage is an issue in the Versa after having a car with an abundance of room. I keep maps in the glove box and cd cases in the door pockets, but they slide around all the time due to the hard plastic surface (use the dashboard, center door storage area for other accoutrements and the armrest for company badge and other 'very' small items). I was thinking about putting in the soft/fuzzy (hook?) side of black, velcro strips in the pockets to stop things from sliding around (once the weather gets warmer here in Minneapolis - minus 6 at the moment) Anyone else been annoyed by this? I found another product that in an autoparts store called a "sticky pad" - see http://www.handstands.com/ I have no connection with the product. I tried the regular sticky pad on the dash, but it didn't stay attached to the dash material (may have been too cold), so may have to try the gel type once the weather warms up.

I would try picking up a $1 roll at the dollar store of that thin foam you put in your cabinets to stop plates from sliding. Cut it into a small strip so it just lays at the bottom of the door pockets. I use that in my tool box other than paying $10 PER drawer that most places want for tool box mats.

Maybe a little pricy, but seems nicely done-http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...photo

I have one of those visor attachments for CD's. Works fine for me. I have no storage complaints. But then I don't store a lot.

I have storage complaints as well. Somehow I managed to not look in the trunk of the Versa while I was deciding to buy it. lol For such a roomy interior, the trunk feels neglected.

But in resepect to stuff moving around. I agree with getting those rolls of plasticy stuff mentioned above.

I keep alot of crap in my car and I don't have any real issues...

Got one of those sun visor CD holders -- no need for the actual cd cases in the car.pocket above the stereo holds a few cds or my sunnies glovebox is huge.... got alot of things in there.. dvd cases and a whole tissue box... the owners manual and log book.... some pens.... and heaps moremap book goes underneath the passenger seat, theres a dip in the floor which is a perfect spot for it and it wont slide around there eithercentre console/armrest holds a heap of stuff too....coins... handsfree kit when im not using it... gum.... all the essentials

theres cup holders galore in the thing

i don't see the problem? just gotta be smart about what you put where.

for starters I'd recommend ditching the cd cases and getting the visor holder for the discs or a simple cd wallet.

door pockets are best used for misc rubbish.. wrappers and whatever

Do you guys really have maps in the car? I've never known someone who just kept maps.

My wife is "map girl". When we bought the V and I emptied the old car I found maps from the last time we went to SC (three March Breaks ago!) and to the east coast (four years ago!). Map pockets are like attics and garages (what -- a garage is for a car?) -- any empty space soon fills up with junk.

Got a SL? Rip CDs to mp3 and burn 5-6 albums on a CD-R. If you can fill up all 6 CD changer slots then you won't run out of music.

Wow, thanks for all the replys! The neoprene inserts for the holders/ doors would really give the best sound dampening and keep things stable. Also the (rubbermaid-style) drawer liners is an excellent idea. I also found a folding, box with a lid at my local hardware store that snaps into shape (made of a reinforced nylon fabric) to hold items in the trunk - @ 2'x2' - even was on sale, woo-hoo!! This Spring I'm going to get the windows tinted to @ 50% - think that will give it a more sporty look. Maybe some pin striping at some point. Anyone have a pic of something like that? My V is brilliant silver, SL hatchback.

I know Bob @ versaspeed was working on getting the JDM Tiida storage box for the Versa.....it comes up even with the seats when they are layed down to give a totally flat surface and it has storage undernieth

Or one of those, what do you call 'em? Oh yeah, 80 or 160gb ipods, I haven't used my CD player at all, thanks to that little aux input jack. Plenty of music at my fingertips, leaves lots of storage space open for other stuff.

I know this isn't a tinting thread and I don't mean to hijack but....I would reconsider 50% tint. It won't do much and doesn't add to any sportiness. It tends to look like an "almost" tint job. Go at least 35%. Hijack off.

Agrred. we just got ours tinted last week w/35% all around (the darkest allowed by law here in TN) and it looks great.

Unfortunately, Minnesota state law only allows 50%. Just want to cut some light and dull bright headlights coming up from the rear. My former vehicle had an auto-dimming rear view mirror, which spoiled me, along with tinted rear windows.
