L24 engine in 65 Datsun 410

The quirky and versatile Datsun 410 and 411 series sedans and wagons laid the groundwork for the 510.

After failed attempts to start my E-1 engine I recently decided to switch the engine to a L24 engine. Although it's a little longer than expected I think with modifications it might work but before starting that project I'd like to get an opinion from you guys... Am I f*** up or is this a good idea... Thanks for the advice.

Hi Matzaraji21,

It's too large for the engine bay. It's been done, but you'll have to cut a hole in the hood and dismantle your wipers. Not a good option. One I have seen dropped in KA24E with some modification to the cross member. Other options include dropping in a MG 1800cc engine or even a Mazda 12, 12a, or 13 motor.
