i have an 89' 240 that i just put a CA in. I hooked up the knock sensor but it doesnt run right and is throwing a code "34", which is the code for knock sensor. I am just wondering how do you wire it up correctly, so that i can double check. There has been so many different posts on how to do it, i might have done it wrong. I have also tried to use a 10k Ohm resistor connected to the ground wire, and still have had no such luck. Any help is appreciated.

And YES, I have searched a lot.

just wire it directly to the ecu. dont bother trying to splice it in anywhere, just run wire from the pins on the ecu to the connector on the knock sensor. thats what most people end up doing.

Does the plusar have a knock sensor? I would think it would. It should be the same.

OK, so I've got 2 options... Hard wire from 23 to sensor, which I already tried and it didnt work. Or... Run the resistor from 23 to 20 without looping it? Which didnt work also. So what I'm trying to clarify on is should I hard wire the resistor from 23 to 20 inside of the ecu? And, having it wired into the harness, is it picking up other signals? Hum... The weird thing is that she still acts like the knock sensor is messing with the timing and throwing off my a/f, even though its not currently wired. BTW, it majically started throwing code 12 also, which is the AFM. Any ideas. Thanks again

from my understanding if the knocksensor is not connected it will still act as if it seeing detonation...(happened to me)...

try checkin the voltage/resistance (whatever it is) to see if the knock sensor is any good (instructions in the fsm)...im doin this tomorrow tho im pretty sure i need to replace mine

this might be off topic butwhat EXACTLY are your symptoms from this??i am wondering as my ca backfires and runs rich as i accelerate, sometimes it will run perfect for 20 min or more, then she wants to start backfiring and sputtering i have changed my coilpacks, changed my ignitors (i have 3) i'm about to try swapping my coolant sensor this is driving me crazy. just thinking it might be the knock sensor is incorrectly wired
