Again, just pop your fob open look at the battery, mystery solved. Either its a rechargeable battery or its not.

That's the ammo I'm taking with me. But again, why would the engineers AND two separate dealers (200 miles apart) tell me it was rechargeable. These people need to get their facts straight or teach me something about inductive charging and how it supposedly works on non-rechargeable batteries.

It's personal now.

Ok, I understand now.

The coolest thing I've seen with inductive charging is the "Mat"..basically you just lay any cell phone, ipod etc on the mat an it charges the batteries. They had it at CES this year...and Palm is going to release a phone, the pre, that come swith an inductive charger...

Yeah, found that after... but look at the price! $13! AND, you need a charger! And, no, the car won't charge it, JBR069! Cheaper in the long run to just put new alkaline batts in the i-keys... not sure why this is such a dilemma... it's obvious when you need to do it, and you still have ample time to do so even after it starts to fail! Not like it's a monthly ritual or anything. Consider the alternative... key for everything (but it still won't start your car! LOL).... I'll take the fob, thank you!

I had a low battery warning 2 months ago. I pulled out my battery and put it back in. 2 months later, no warning and battery is still fine.

How long does it take the car to reset the loe battery indication, its been 3 days since I put a new battery in and it still comes on when I start the car (tried other fob too, same thing) I have a service appt for Tuesday PM..likely reset ECU should be no big deal...but anyone else have this problem?

Low battery finally (this morning Tuesday) did not come on.

so I had my primary key fob battery give the warning about a month ago, so I switched to my backup key fob (which I have never used before). Now, just one month later, I'm getting the low battery warning again? What's up with that, does the battery leak its charge over time or something?
Just thought I'd update this thread...it's been over 6 months now since I first got the low battery warning on my keyfob, I've been using my car every day since then, and the fob is still working fine. Dunno if it's a malfunction with the low battery detection, but I'm gonna keep pushing it til the fob no longer works...

and on a side note, I got the 20 pack of batteries from dealextreme pretty quickly after ordering them. I 'm pretty sure I don't need all 20, so if anybody in the GTA is looking for extra keyfob batteries, let me know and I can just give you some of them.
