Ricky you are amazing (no bs)I hope to own my own business one day idk if it will be that big but i sure hope soMr.Coupe wrote:Congrats in getting accepted to Law School bro. Parents are there for support and comfort dude. With them lending you $300 a month ensure to them that you will be happy in law school because you get to keep one of your most prized possessions which is your AC. Think about it this way bro when you graduate Law School and become a Lawyer you will be able to pay your parents their money back with interest or help them out in many different ways. When I was 18 my parents dropped thousands upon thousand of dollars into an Electric Company that I wanted to start. I was a kid straight outta high school and had this idea. My parents never doughted me for a second and gave me the amounts I asked for. At the end they had given me 850K no BS. Now 5 years later my company is one of the most successful Transportation Electrical Systems Installers in the Socal area. It's bringing in roughly 700-900 Million a year. I took classes and joined the Electrical Union so I only hire Union electricians. The moral of my story is that parents will support their children in any way or manner to make sure that their children are happy . Don't feel bad that they are letting you borrow $300 a month to help you with your car because they know that when you graduate Law School it was well torth it for them to see you happy that you reached your goals with minimal sacrafices.

Stanks, I had between a 3.1 and a 3.2 GPA, and my LSAT score was in the 84th percentile. I was accepted to a tier-one school (ranked 47th in 2008) for part-time evening classes. If you're worried about your grades and your score, remember that you have complete control over the essay. It's my estimation that my ability to write overcame what my GPA lacked.stankydanky wrote:if you don't mind me asking what was your GPA after graduating? I'm doing pre-med and I feel as if I'm going to be in the same situation as you in a couple years unless my MCAT scores are really high =/
I heard so many times from each of my professors that you need to do a "facebook purge." Get rid of anything you wouldn't show your mother, Stanks.rjdmmfl1 wrote:1st thing you should do is change your online name. You may not think things like this matter much, but they do if the wrong person puts two and two together.
yeah I know what y'all mean about the name...had no clue what to put as a screenname and it was just a little inside joke thinking not too many people would actually read to far into it bad decision on my endIBCoupe wrote:Stanks:

Thanks for the encouragement, and I'm going to have to second everything you said right here:

Also, rjd probably knows better than I do about the importance of writing. I was referring mostly to the admissions letter, but it's entirely plausible that a medical school will look at your writing ability far less than a law school will. I mean: look at your average doctor's hand-written note!
lol... not just the handwriting, but the abiulity to write/type/construct long documents seems paramount in law... for medicine, the majority of our writing is writing patient notes, and that's not usually the most grammatically correct thing you will read.. its always filled with medical jargon that would not makes sense to others... but yeah, I def changed a few things about my facebook page when I found out my professors, and worst yet my PARENTS were on facebook lol... anyway, keep us updated on your progress through law school IBcoupe... and stanky... nope Ricardo, get at me regarding the med school application process. I responded to someone in the General Discussion section of the ALtima forum yesterday.. there may be some useful info for you in there!IBCoupe wrote:Stanks:
