well i just finished mt turbo setup on my sohc , the oil feed line is a 3' long -4an line that connects where your oil pressure sending unit goes , you just replace the unit with a "T" fitting so you can retain your sender , than the other side of the t you connect the line , and on the other end of the line you hook up to your turbo, than the drain line has to be pretty big like -10an so the oil can drain without building pressure in the turbo [makes the seals go out faster] than you drill a hole in the oil pan for the drain to go , now you have two options , you can have a fitting welded to the oil pan , or ive seen a kit with a flange that bolts to the inside of the oil pan to a outside flange that basicly clamps the oil pan , with a fitting on it [ no welding ] but both fine , just the basic idea is to make the drain go straight down to the oil pan without going above the turbo [ gravity drain] and thats about it good luck

can anybody let me know how does -3an translate to inches? I'm using 1/4" for my oil sending line and 3/4" for my return line. Just want to make sure the sizes are ok.

1/4 is ok but i would go 1/8 , but your drain is good

Hmmm... why? Too much pressure to the turbo? Maybe I'll use a restrictor somewhere... already had the 1/4" made for the oil sending unit and another one for the compressor-wastegate. I'll have the 3/4" made tomorrow.

ya if you already have the line you should use it , you just dont want pressure to build in the turbo , you want just enough oil to feed into the turbo then drain right back out ,

Ok. Thanks. I'll use the lines as they are now. I'll probably fire up the engine come Thursday - no cooler piping yet, still waiting for the mandrel bents. Just want to make sure I don't have any oil leaks.

You can buy the T at a hardware store. I had a fitting custom made mainly to be able to connect an pressure sender to monitor oil press.

Hmm...couldn't you buy like an "X" connecter and use one for the turbo, one for sender, one to monitor oil press, and one for whatever else the rest of it went to originally?

Yes, but try to get that near the oil filter. And the oil press sender I bought uses a different thread, so I had the fitting made with 3 threads as the stock oil switch on the sides and one thread to fit the oil press sender on top.

A couple of our fwd SR20 guys started a company that makes a great adapter for this purpose.

To quote directly from the link that I posted:

"The oil pressure switch is installed in the 1/8 BSPT “female” end of the adapter, and the “male” end is threaded into the stock oil pressure switch location. The adapter includes three additional 1/8 NPT threaded ports for gauges, oil source for a turbo, or whatever else works for your application. It comes with two 1/8 NPT threaded plugs to seal unused ports."

aiite im a newbie here and i've been setting up turbo kits for hondas for a good time and we at the honda boards have come up with a very cheap/ VERY effective oil feed setup. for about 25$ + shipping - and dont be fooled its a good oil feed kit, teflon oil feed with stianelss steel braided outter cover, 3-AN, etcc. and also includes the correct 1/8 NPT to male 1/8 BSPT fitting for you applications

go to wwww.mcmaster.com

and get these following parts

4092k11 1/8 NPT femal to 1/8 BSPT male $3.684468k401 3-AN (its listed as 3/16th i think) ss braided line with brass fittings 14-16$

50785K219 brass female by female by male brass T $ 0.93

the stianelss steel line comes with swivel fittings and 3-AN to 1/8 NPT pipe fittings ( the part that screws into your T3 turbo or any other turbos that use this fitting)

hope to help. if any questions feel free to email or post up

if you guys dont trust this list i can also provide you with a list from Amstreetrod.com with earls fittings/lines however, you'd still have to get you 1/8 NPT female to 1/8 BSPT male fitting from here.

The oil sending unit is employes NPT as well. I just ordered these parts, and when they arrive I'll tell you how I installed them.
