Hey i was wondering if anybody could help me out. I have an 87 Pathfindeer with a z24 in it and i wanna swap it out with a Ka24e. I've seen the motor i want to put in it, but i'm having a hard time getting together the correct information about swaping it out. The motor is out of a 240sx. Now my real question is about the wiring would i have to swap out the computer and wiring harness into for it to run properly and would i also need to change the fuel pump or any other accessories.Any help would be appreciatied.

thanks for the bit of help. I don't think too many of the sensors would be different since the car is an '89 240sx but i was mainly wondering because the engine is a dual spark and TBI. So my next question is this, is it easy to change up the wiring harness on a Nissan? I'm asking cuz i know with VW the harness disconnects into pieces, and i was wondering if its the same on Nissan or do i have to go through and complely rewire the front half of the car?

the wiring harnesses on 240sx are one piece. they are all wrapped into different sections but its a singl long harness that runs from the passenger side kickpanel to the engine compartment.

hey man .. I seen that you got some help already but just thought i would drop a line.. I did the sway already but i went from the 240sx from the z 24 in a hardbody... tell you what man the swap was really easy. the mounts are a little different on teh ka than the z so you will need the mounts.. the harness of course because you are going to fuel injected.. the oil pan and pickup tube will have to be changed i think cause the pan is shallower on the car motor.. now if you would have got the ka out of a truck then the pan would now have to be changed.. Other than the mounts.. harness and computer you wont have a problem.. Mine dropped right in.. good luck and have fun.. you can check mine out here... http://www.myspace.com/motochamp315.

Well i appreciate all the info especially about the oil pan and mounts, there is a truck with a ka24e in too so i can just swap off those few pieces if they are still there and any good, and i'll see if i can get the mounts for it new. Now about the pickup tube what exactly is that?

Another question will the things such as my old alternator and a/c compressor work on the KA? I want to know just incase they've been stripped off the motor and i won't be able to compare them with the ones from the z24. I've seen post saying using the KA engines starter so i was wondering about these also.

yeah all your parts will work.. the blocks are pretty much the same so all the 24 parts will bolt on if you have to. tell you what man if you need the compresser and mount for a ka i have one. I just did away it if to free up some horses. .. the pick up tube i was talking about is the oil pickup tube. when you take the oil pan off you will see it.. its the tube thats hanging down with the bowl like filter on the end.. oh yeah jsut for reference...[ if there is anyone out there that is looking for a truck bed for a nissan pickup.. if you have a standard cab.lol dont go and get one for a entended cab.. they look the same in size and all but they moved the fender whales and yeah it dont work... so just so no one makes the mistake making a trip like did.. Its cool though cause its going back and swaping for a standard one.
