This should be a great thread, im very very intrested in buying the solid rocker arms from realnissan.com as well. But my question is, are the customs rockers going to 100% make my lifters quiet down and also are these safe to use.

hay deviouska what are you talking about. This mod has nothing to do with the cam or the profile of the cam. Do you know what were talking about. Doesnt seem so.

ok now i know what you were trying to say Devious. But instead of having an expensive cam reground and taking precise measurements between the bottom rocker shaft and the cam, you can just use shims that act as spacers which is less expensive and easier to do. But what i want to know is who else has done this to there car and what was the outcome, Pro/cons. Also who else provides these solid rockers arms, what other company or site.

i have got to say that nico forums suck big ballz. everytime i see a good thread posted it never gets good useful replys. If this thread was on freshalloy like it should be, you would get 240 educated folks to give usefull info on this matter. i think this is my last time to ever reply on these boring useless forums. Peace out yall

That guy says that when using a regroud cam, it can be ground to be optimised with the solid lifters (more so than with a ground cam with hydraulics). Probably not to big of a deal worth noting though, most likely has to do with lifter adjustment itself, as the hydraulic lifters have "automatic" valve lash adjustment.

DeviousKA, that was me that said that, i'm offering the solid lifter conversion to KA SOHC owners here in Australia. You are spot on about it being mainly lash adjustment, as the HLA's simply don't pump up enough with my reground cam. As a result, i've only got 7mm or so of lift on the exhaust valves, when it should be 10mm. The transistion from the base circle to the top of the lobe can be increased (ie steeper) slightly to produce faster acceleration of the valves opening and closing, hence allowing more flow during the transistion from opening/closing. They are cryogenically treated also to increase fatigue strength to endure sustained high rpm.

nico sucks big ballz? try posting this topic on FA and see what type of responses you get. it's not that this thread is on nico, it's the lack of interest in the topic.

solid lifters + ka24e + all motor = lack of interest

lack of interest = lack of replies.

btw, deviousKA has been posted some VERY good info on stuff that he's been working on, but since it doesn't concern turbocharging, it goes almost unnoticed. i posted a link on FA to his thread about swapping the E and DE cylinder head and got ZERO responses. you'd think proof of something that everyone said couldn't be done would recieve tons of replies, but it didn't.

go figure.

ooops.

This is the only decently traveled board that is somewhat specific to n/a ka engines. Somewhere like FA you would have to compete with "500hp on stock bottom end SR" and "Can you drift with open diff?" type posts, blah.

exactly.
