Ok so I'll start my s14. It idles at around 300 - 500 rpm. Engine shakes violently, and then It just dies. and my Temp sensor is crazy it goes past H when i shut the car OFF. Anyone know what could be wrong. I replaced spark plugs, cleaned MAF, changed oil like last week and it was ru nning fine 2 days ago. my throttle wire is a little lose on the throttle part on the engine.

When you replaced your plugs, did you change wires too? Make sure they are in the right firing order!

as for the temp sensor, make sure the connection to it is tight. i believe its right under the bleeder screw on the intake manifold. its a red connection. make sure its tight. and if its still freaking out, u could have air bubble in ur coolin system. and if thats not the case, get a new sensor to try.

i have a similar situation with engine shaking and low idle. i replaced my spark plug wires, and got new plugs, and new cap and rotor. but i dont think the cap and rotor change was necesary. so check all that.

also it could be timing. i know u didnt mess around with it probably, but just check it. also check the firing order u have the wires hooked up to... as the distributor goes around counterclockwise it should fire 1,3,4,2

no.. .that wouldnt explain the jumpy idle and it dieing. when u disconnect the TPS to adjust idle and stuff, the engine still runs, just at like 650 rpms... but its still smooth... so that cant be it.

I dont like acronyms. Explain what these mean? I'm new to the 240sx scene. So I dont know much about them.

Btw I dont know why I have 2 accounts. But th is is the one I use.

And I seem to be missing a hose on my intake. it's right next to the big hose that goes up to the valve cover. it's the little "post" next to it. It's missing a hose any idea where it's at?

i asked myself the same question...but u can block it off...its recomended...because...if ur sucking more air than ur mas air flow sensor is reading...ur increasing the air in the air fuel mixture...causing ur car to lean out and not run properlly...

When i disconnected mine the car ran rich and didn't want to idle unless i did the "rev past 3000 3 times" things. And it idled rough after.

Ok get th is, Yes please laugh at me.

Since my gas gauge doesnt work. My car died the other day. And I was all worried that I had blown something Since I was redlining a couple times. Come to find out, I just ran out of gas XD. And my Fuel pump is defiantly working since When I filled it back up, It sucked the gas from the tank straight to the motor. in like 2 seconds. I'm happy, Now I just need to drain my motor of its Brand new oil. So i can take both timing chain guides out since I have the Popular "Marbles in a tin can" sound comming from my motor. And Does anyone have any Altima fans. I need to buy some so I can get rid of my gay engine fan.
