Hi there, I need some 2nd. 3rd, 4th...etc.etc.....opinions, lol. I took the valve cover off my KA24DE, and my worst fears, the lower right guide is gone. As a result, my exhaust backfires when i'm slowing down to 80kph ~ 1700RPM's, and also when I accelerate, at ~1700 RPM, it kinda studders as well.

Bottom line is, to rebuild it will be Aprox $4000 CAD. Do you guys know anyplaces (US or Canada) that sells rebuilt KA24DE's?

Thanks for your views and opinions.

$4,000 CAD is a hefty price to pay. For a fully tuned KA it shouldn't cost that much. I would expect to pay around $1000 or above.

If you just need a replacement KA, swapping to low mileage KA would be the cheaper way to go.

Check out the nissan junk yards for KA's. Shop around and look for the best deals also.

btw, welcome to nico.

yup, 4k cad is too pricey.

as direktdrive said, its cheaper to swap a lower mileage one in.

A 100k mile Ka can be bought for 350-400 US dollars with not to much hassle.
