Hey y’all, I have looked through and searched through the forums for a possible solution and I couldn’t seem to find one. Sounds like other people had the same issue but no one was able to solve it. Just wondering if anyone encountered a similar problem and had a solution.

Problem:
Car revs fine when not under load; however, when the car is under load the car will bog around 3500-4000 RPMs and will backfire a little. However once it gets past 4000 RPMs it pulls hard all the way up to redline. The car drives just fine if I keep the RPM’s low.

Backstory:
Pulled the motor (for other transmission related reasons)
Replaced upper and lower timing chain
Replaced the rotor and cap on the distributor
Car did not do this before

Thank you for taking time and reading my post :)

Have you checked your ignition timing with a timing light? sounds like a timing issue potentially. Could be ignition timing or could be something else (got a cam gear off by a tooth perhaps?)
