KA transmission question!

Ok my clutch went out saturday and I ordered a F1 stage 1 racing clutch. I have no recieved it yet but I wanted to go ahead and take the transmission off so itl be ready to go when it comes. I took the part the holds the transmission and drive shaft... I was told you have to take the drive shaft off but I cannot get the bolts to loosen... a socket will not fit over them only a wrench and they wont budge, but I was trying in the middle of the drive shaft.... am I supposed to unbolt it from the rear end? or from the middle part? Also, how much does the transmission weigh so I dont crush myself? lol. I dont have a lift so we have a little wall by our drive way that I made some rigged ramps outa wood and pulled it up on that.

Take the bolts off of where it connects to the diff in the rear. The shaft will then just slide out of the transmission, no removing any bolts (just know that transmission fluid will come out there, so would drain the transmission.

5spd transmission is probably 60-70lbs or so I'd guess. The automatic ones are the only ones that will really hurt you.

Oh ok thanks for the info. The only bolts I take out of the transmission are the ones at the top right? I think there are 3 on each side

To remove the transmission? There are 8-10 bolts around the transmission that bolt it to the engine to remove.

To remove the DS the only bolts are the 4 at the Diff.

Oh. Well I noticed there are 4 bolts at the bottom but they are going thru a thin plate. Do I remove those? It's got 2 on each side of the bottom

There is a thin plate between the transmission and engine, but those bolts should be going through all 3 things.
