SloS13: What blow off valve you have? It sounds crazy weird...like a mix of the Greddy TypeS and HKS SSQV, but amazingly awesome... Oh I just checked out your site, it is really the TXS RFL? wow, I may have to get me one of those =) Is the performance/response and quality good on it?

i had an RFL but i was gettin waaay too much compressor surge that is why i stoped using it. now i'm using the type H bypass valve. and i still get alittle but nothing major. how many spacers do you have in your BOV? casue from what i heard it sounded pretty smooth, and i'm wondering how come your only running 6 psi?

you can't take your RFL apart? your suppose to be able to unscrew the top then take the spring out and then put spacers in the piston to tighten the spring tension. the BOV should come with 6 spacers. hmmmmm with no spacers in it, you BOV should be pretty open in idle. well atleast mine does. i have to use 4 spacers to keep the valve closed on idle. but with 4, its too tight to open smoothly. does your BOV open under idle? and if it doesn't. may i ask how many inches of vacuum do you run? i get 22-26 inches on mercury.

I mean like what S14tat said about the compressor surge and that whole spacer deal...

You not having any problems with it?Its just Ive see it for about 170 which is what I can get the Apexi unit which I KNOW for a fact is quality stuff. Not to say TXS isnt, but its not Apex'i...

Nevermind, I found it on ebay for 137 new...still though...not too sure..

the RFL is a really nice unit. it works extremely well in every other car that i've seen except for KA turbos. its weird. anyways i think the greddy type S is the way to go. its not a piston type, but a diaphram type.

well the beauty behind the type S is that its also a bypass valve. and its much louder then the type H34 (what i currently have on) with a cone filter, the blow off valve sounds just as loud as a vented to atmosphere one even though its being bypassed back into the intake. so you won't get problems with the car running too rich on shifts, and a good bypass valve is suppose to be open under idle anyways.

Well the AFC could fix the rich-while-shifting problems, but I see your point. Suggestion noted =)

the AFC can also prevent the car from stalling. but it comes at a price. first gear drivability will suck at low revs, and part throttle will suck. also the car will back fire really loud at shifts or when you let off. when it back fires that means taht the car was suppose to stall, but the AFC just saved it from stalling. also when the engine is cold and is not in close loop operation the car will idle really bad like its tryin to stall. also fuel economy sucks when your stuck in traffic. these are all the bad things that i had to deal with before i decided to give up on a vented to atmosphere BOV

Thats a lot of bad stuff =) Hmm, I do definitely want a somewhat noticable blow off sound though, sounds ricey, but its just so badass sounding. The greddy S sounds cool, but I always avoided it cuz of the leaks at idle, but if what you say is true, I may switch from my Apex/Atmosphere setup to the Greddy S/Reroute....
