Hey guys, just finished my ka swap a couple of weeks ago, but my newly rebuilt ka has some problems with starting! When i turn the key, it just cranks and cranks and cranks till the battery would be died, if i just kept cracking. But i let off the key like i am suppose to. Anyway, i doesn't want to start so i give it like half throttle and it will start to chug just like hit on 1 cylinder. But it still wont start. So i have to like keep pushing on the throttle and like get into a rhythm with the chugging lol and i can sometimes get it started. lol So i pulled out my plugs and checked them. They pretty much had gas all over them, so i cleaned them. i hope timing is on because it does run when started and the motor is set to 20 BTDC so i know it should be on time.

What do you guys think. i searched for ka starting problems but nothing. Any help would be nice. Thanks

so all 4 plugs are getting soaked with gas after turning it over?

if so, pull the injector fuse under the hood. (behind pass headlight) then turn it over. this should clear up the gas left in the cylinders.

are you sure you are getting good enough spark to light the fuel? Grab a spark tester from your local Napa or if you don't have napa, Autozone (ralph) or the like. anyway, set the gap in the tester to about 20 and plug it into one of your spark plug wires. turn the car over. if the spark jumps the distance, you have good spark, repeat on all the plugs.

are you getting enough air? are all the vacuum connections hooked up? do you have the metal clips on ALL of your electrical plugs? if yes, try to jiggle the MAF connector, i heard it helps.

also, check all the fuses just in case. keep it posted yo
