Hey i got a 1990 240. my ka24e is dying and the trans is old too. im considering doin a Ka24de but i cant find any motor/trans combo's with low miles at a good price. I've had more luck finding SR's clips than KA's. So my question is anyone know where i can find a good rebuild kit for my KA or motor/trans for a KA24DE?

Your in Cali, have you tried any junkyards? I bet cali has just as many 240's as Texas does and I've found some great motors at the local junkyards, I bought a nice one for about 400 bucks for the motor, 250 for the trans. Dont bother with the u-pull-it's though, they are always allready picked over.

^yes, call local junkyards and ask if they have a lowmileage/good condition engine for your car.

Do you have to swap the entire harness and ECU as well to go to KA24DE?

You will have to swap the ECU, I dont know about the harness...but a u-pull-it is just what it sounds like, its a junkyard where YOU pull whatever you want off the car and pay them for it. They are usually cheaper but really picked over. I like them for small interior items or more unusual things that dont break much.
