Is it really needed to rebuild a KA engine for a turbo. I hear all the time about people getting new rods and pistons and all that stuff before they turbo KA. Because the stock ones usually go when you turbo. But i see some people on here running 9psi and about 250hp on there stock KA internals. My KA is a automatic i woudl like to get manuel or do a 5spd swap but looking at about 1000 just for swap since i gotta buy parts and get a mechanic to swap for me. But im only 17 and have about 450 a month to spend on my car so cant do much here and cant really afford to upgrade the internals i guess. So i might just turbo the automatic, but just a little worried about internals lol. So i have a few questions should i turbo automatic, should i upgrade internals, should i turbo a KA at all with my kind of money ill only have anywere from 3000-4500 for my project.

you can run 9 psi on stock internals with some good turning and 91 gas you'll be all right, also consider upgrading the transmission 250hp and 270+tq will be very hard on the transmission,

VB upgrade and a high stall TQ converter, together should run about 1000 Americans, so you get longer transmission life and a faster car.

No one knows where the stock auto will crap out. I'd venture to say 350 with a good transmission cooler and decent fluid.

You can run 15 lbs on stock internals. 350 WHP has been done with no problems. A stall converter will be very harsh on the transmission, it doesn nothing but superheat the fluid. I'm not saying not to get one. They work great, but don't be mislead to think they help for strength.

I loved my auto Skyline, friggin blast to drive.
