ka-e or ka-de

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

i've searched and havn't come up with what i wanted to know

people tell me the ka-e is a better engine to turbocharge but my questions is if the CR was the same would the ka-e still be better to turbo?

The E model and the DE model are very similer. I like the DE because of cam tuning abilities. Both are great motors to boost. You don't want higher CR anyway when boosting, so it has no relevence what would be better.

the de gets more air flow but the e has less moving parts. any thing else

The DE has a knock sensor.

not saying the KAE is bad, hell I have one, it's good for a nice simple motor, but the DE is more sophistimicated.

No, nobody wants a high CR when boosting, because it adds to the risk of pre-ignition.

Ha, high CR plus boost = running like a raped ape.... Just requires lots of race gas on our little 4 cylinders.
