k&n Oil Filter Life

I have bought the K&N oil filter before, I used it for my first oil change at 2900 Miles.My question is, when do I have to change the filter, should I change it at the recommended interval of 3000 miles? Is the filter life longer than other filters?

I still changed it at the 3000 mile interval. But I was just wondering.

Spend the extra coin and use full synthetic, change every 5000 miles and change your filter when you change your oil.

Just making sure, cause K&N is known to make filters that outlast and out perform OEM filters. btw, I am using full synthetic.
