ok, i know i might get flamed for this but i'll try and ask anyways.Just by looking at the differential unit by itself, is there anyway to tell if it is an LSD unit? The wrecked car I found has a "C" for the 18th digit which means it should be an LSD; the problem is that the mechanics took out the differential and threw it in the trunk of the car. The differential has no orange sticker anywhere. I'd like to make sure I'm not going to pay 200$ for an open differential. . .

you'll just have to open up the differential cover and see the gears... should be a sealed rubber unit right in the center.
