Well I just bought a nissan 240sx 1989, not sure on make, but has a few problems.first the oil dipstick is broken, could you guys help me find a place to order a new one.second the automatic seatbelts dont work, you have to manually put the seat belt on and clip it to the top, any know what this could be?third the lock on drivers side door cant be opened by a key, only the lock on passenger side can be.

so if anyone can give me suggestions and or sites to look at for how to fix these I would really appreciate it, I will post a pic of it as soon as I can also.

You can get a new cylinder for your passenger door lock , im not sure on the cost though. Mine is broken as well. I think you can find a replacement oil dipstick of ebay or even try a junkyard. The seatbelt i have no clue. The motors in them are probally ****ed. You could try calling your local nissan dealership for a quote. My expeirence with nissan dealerships is that everything they sell you is overpriced. You might want to also try a junkyard for the seatbelt motors.Good luck and Welcome to the board man.

Did you check the fuses for them? Kinda odd that both went out.

Oh and dealer parts arent just over priced they are generally twice the dealership cost.

The seatbelts are under warranty. Take it in and have them fix it, but make sure you get it on paper that they'll cover it first. Some dealers won't do it. Dipstick can be bought new at dealer, I wouldn't get a used one, too much possibility of damage or debris on it.

Forget the dealer. go to the junk yard get your parts clean them up and put them on. As for the lock just go to any lock place it's usually between 15 and 20 bucks.
