just bought a '03 spec-v, have some questions....

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

hey new forum, im used to being on the 240 forums but looks like i'll be on here too.

just bought a silver '03 spec v with 52500 miles on it. ive read up about the precat and butterfly valve screw thing, and i know the header isnt replaced, but do not know if it had the recall performed yet. will nissan perform both recalls? and should i take their word for it?(about the butterfly valve screws) the warranty expires at 60k i believe... so...sadly this is my first "new" car ive owned so never had to deal with this warranty/recall stuff...

another question is that i have: when its cold, say like over night and i start it in the morning, it seems to not want to start, i'll hold the key and the engine will turn over, and it will only catch and actually start when i let go of the key... sometimes it will just sputter and die though. the second time i try it always starts. i dont know if this could maybe have something to do with the idle seeming way too low.... when the a/c is turned on the car shakes for a couple seconds pretty badly, and shows idle under 500rpm...

heres some pics of the new spec:http://www.flickr.com/photos/1...4296/

thanks for any input

whats up man? Well i have a 2006 nissan sentra ser and i had the same problem about starting the car when its cold outside and i bought my car new so i took it back to the dealership they diagnosed it and said that there was something wrong with the fuel pump thats why it was doing that and i think they replaced my fuel pump and it never did that again at first i thought it was my battery or starter but it wasnt and the warranty covered everything so thats your best bet. Should be covered under powertrain.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure Nissan had enough fuel pump problems in '03/'04 for you to get a free one.

your powertrain warranty is 8yr/80,000 as long as none of the modifications void it. I see no reason Nissan wouldn't cover the screws and the cat. I agree the fuel pump seems faulty, like it doesn't have enough pressure at startup, let them fix it.
