Someone suggested this and it does look and seem to be something... different. But I was wondering: what kind of gains and changes does this literally do?

http://www.injectedperformance...ID=36

In terms of hp/torque? Sound? and so on...

Thanks.

oh now thats just sexy, the long straight runners are supposed to really improve torque, and the velocity stacks are going to increase power across the power band especially up top, that being said I'd be suprised to see a gain of more than 20 hp, niot a lto for that kind of cash

compared to forcced induction which you can get for nearly as much money it's kinda a waste

shou;dn't make it very lound as it's the intake, I am sure you'll hear the intake more but the noise comes from the exhaust, this isn't the sort of thing you want on a street car with no air filters

It will also greatly improve throttle response. Stock hood might not clear that. Filtration?

I read about ITB's with a modified CAI but it was on a 4 banger. It was in sport compact or one of those tuner magazines but it's been several months ago. They used a CAI made for that car and then had a custom housing made that went over the ITB and all the tubing so that they recieved filtered air.

If you're only looking for power you'll be much better off with a supercharger. It will give you an easier installation on the front end a be more trouble free on the back end.

On various 4 cylinders with ITB's I've heard of gains ranging from 15 to 25 hp but all reported a great increase in throttle response. They seem to be really popular with the Honda crowd - I'm guessing its the higher compression.

There was a discussion going on in the G forums a few weeks ago on this same topic.

thanks for the advice guys.I think the ITB brings a lot more problems than HP gains, and with such a high price tag, it seems too much. Thanks again.

ITBs arent going to give you a lot of power gains, but they do make huge gains in throttle response. And anyone who's ever heard a car with ITBs know that it sounds siiiick.

The main issue with ITBs is tuning them. You cant run a stock ECU, you need to get a standalone. Your stock injectors wont work either. Then you have to find someone that knows how to tune a VQ with ITBs... Good luck with that.

They are pretty cool for the wow factor... But if youre looking for big power gains your money is better spent on forced induction.

If you are looking to stay n/a these bodies are definitly something to consider. There is a kit with airboxes for the 350z/g35 platform that was shown for the first time in public at PRI today. As for the potential of these just look at this thread http://my350z.com/forum/shop-b....html as you can see the itb's added almost 30 peak whp as well as over 50whp on top end . keep in mind that this is without any head work to benifit the extra airflow and with a very mild tune .

if any of you have question feel free to ask Neilp.s. with the right airbox these are very boost friendly
